Cosplay@ Onehunga Library

Hi all!

I work at Onehunga Library and am currently organising our 2nd Cosplay/ parade event, which will be held 2-4 pm Sat 10 Sept. We will meet at the library and then parade on Onehunga Mall to Gotham Comics for award giving. Jeremy from Gotham is on board once again. Yay!

We had about 20 participants last year but hope to get more this year. The prizes last year were pretty good (considering our low budget...) including 2 Armageddon passes, comic books/ goods from Gotham and Hobby One (Browns Bay), etc.

I am pretty sure it was the first Cosplay event ever at a library!

It is still a low-key event with a few very dedicated players, but who knows it will grow in a few years' time with your help! At this stage, it is a small casual event organised by a community library, so there won't be a set programme or a dedicated stage (except for the library and Gotham). The aim is for participants to have fun dressing up, make new friends, and march up Onehunga Mall together to Gotham Comics while judges and people on the street vote for their favourite players (hope it won't rain!).

It's coming up in a few weeks' time!

Here's the tentative terms& conditions (well, just rules really...) for the event:

1. Any comic book character accepted
2. Bought and made costume both accepted
3. All ages accepted, costumes need to be appropriate
4. Entry form to be brought in by 2:30pm, Saturday 10 Sept
5. Contestants have to be available in the library (not the foyer) between 2:30pm and 3:00 pm (time may change)
6. Contestants need to wear the assigned number to qualify for judging
7. You need to be a member of the library (or can join on the day; free to join for Aucklanders)
8. Prize-giving to be held at Gotham Comics around 3:30pm (we will parade there together!)
