Uncle Iroh costume help pls! (ATLA)

Hi guys, I'm doing Uncle Iroh for Armageddon next month, bought the material and
realised that I'm not too sure on how to do the brown clothing (don't worry about the armour) for this character.

Initially I thought it was a kimono shape, but now I'm not so sure.... ashamed

To start with, I'm wanting to sew the brown part with the yellow collar.

Can anyone recommend a basic pattern, that may be similar so I can figure out how to start. Also keep in mind I'm a NOOB when it comes to sewing. sweatdrop

You could essential take a kimono pattern and edit it. It would give you the right basic shape for the whole thing. Shorten the length of the sleeves, attach the yellow to the side of it and then perhaps change it to brown underneath the armoured part?

Edit: Actually a dressing gown pattern would work just as well I think with less changes

if you just change the way the sleeves are done it should fit Uncle 8D

Yes, I think his brown clothes are a kimono shape. :)

The yellow bit is pretty much the same pattern as the brown part if you're willing to make another layer. If not then just make the collar of the yellow bit (using same pattern as the brown bit) and attach it~

IMO I think the yellow collar and the brown bit is the same piece. :) Make it easier for yourself!
