Persona 4 Fightan' Game?! :V

Following up on another announcement that Persona 4 is coming to the Playstation Vita (supposedly featuring extra anime cutscenes, at least one new character and online support so you can "[Call] on others to help you when you're about to die in a dungeon"), There's a fighting game coming soon to the PS3 and XBox 360.

Persona 4: Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, takes place 2 months after the events of Persona 4 and continues the story from there. Teddie is apparently hosting the fighting tournament.

Currently, confirmed characters include:
- Yosuke
- Chie
- ~~Souji~~ Yu
- Yukiko
- Kanji
- Naoto
- Teddie
- Aigis
- Akihiko
- Mitsuru.
(Persona 3 characters are included!)

Arc System Works (more specifically, the BlazBlue team) is going to handle the development of the game. Shoji Meguro will be composing the music, and Katsura Hashino will be directing it (ie. The guy who directed Persona 3, 4 and Catherine).

The game's set to release in Japanese Arcades in spring 2012, while the PS3/360 port is expected to be out in summer 2012.

Not to mention that there's definitely a Persona 5 game in the works...

Arcsys making it? Hmm could be good, hoping for a massive roster, all Persona games, maybe Nocturne + DDS too? Catherine would be a nice touch too.

I just want to play as Ryoji and use stupid Shadow powers. That is ALL I WANT FROM THIS EXPERIENCE.

Also, if it's post-P4, I wonder how they'll shoe-horn Minato into it, and if they're going to try at all? Considering how P3 ended and whatnot.

he's probably in it. In the scan I saw of the roster. There was two Fool arcana; one of them was 'Yu', so the logical conclusion would be that the other one is MC.

The other one seemed to be Aegis; she became Fool Arcana in P3:Fes. Razz

And the fact she's our second Fool makes me iffy on them putting in Minato since it shows that they're adhering to what happened in Fes, and thus sticking to the canon of P3 in general. Which is great in some respects, I'd be sad if they retconned everything, but it's also upsetting because it could potentially mean no Minato and, while he was never a likely character in the first place, no Shinjiro.

(unless they have Teddie rip open a transdimensional portal and haul Shinji's ass from the femMCverse)

That said, they could just handwave it as Lizzie's plan to bring back Minato succeeding and him returning to everyone, which based on what's happened in Persona so far seems like the likeliest happenstance.

I would love Minato/FeMC being brought back by Elizabeth/Theo, 'canon' endings be damned.

Forgot to add two more things ~~because I am a forgetful idiot and don't read certain wikis often~~:

- Rise is not a playable character, but will be giving commentary as an MC of the tournament.

- Each member of the Investigation Team has a rather insulting title given to them ~~(Well, except for Teddie)~~:
Yu Narukami: Sister Complex Banchou of Steel (鋼のシスコン番長)
Yosuke Hanamura: Captain Ressentiment (キャプテンルサンチマン, a reference to Yosuke's resentment towards a society which resents him for being the son of a man that destroyed business for the Central Shopping District.)
Chie Satonaka: Carnivore who forsakes femininity (女を捨てた肉食獣, a reference to her undying consumption of meats and being a fan of the martial arts.)
Yukiko Amagi: Impregnable Snow Black (難攻不落の黒雪姫, wordplay of "Snow White" and reference to Yukiko's Castle.)
Kanji Tatsumi: Terrific Macho Emperor (戦慄のガチムチ皇帝, gachimuchi is a Japanese slang term, referring to very masculine homosexual men)
Kuma/Teddie: Beast of Libido (色欲の猛獣, "ビースト・オブ・リビドー" is the official furigana of the kanji title.)
Naoto Shirogane: Callow Detective with IQ of 2000 (IQ2000のKY探偵, "KY" is a Japanese slang abbreviated from phrase "kuki ga yomenai" [空気が読めない, unable to read the atmosphere] which means someone is acting improperly in the wrong occasion.)
