Online cosplay supplies list!

...was there one of these before? :/ I DON'T KNOW. I've recently had a surprisingly awesome experience with a fabric supplier, and I thought I'd share :) Have also added some others I know to be good, or stock hard to find stuff. Submit! Help make the list bigger! :)

FABRICS

Fabric.com - akin to spotlight, I suppose? Really wide range of all kinds of fabrics, but can be a nightmare to find stuff on. Shipping is reasonable, and very quick :)

Puresilks.biz - stock a massive range of silks, silk blends, satins etc. Shipping is USD$6 per item. I thought this meant it would take a month or more to arrive, coming from India...nope! Took about ten days :) AWESOME fabric quality, and very good price.

MJTrends.com - great range of pleathers, spandex, and latex sheeting. Bit on the pricey side, but exceptional quality.

Spandexhouse.com - HUGE range of stretch fabrics.

DanceFabricsDirect.co.nz - Auckland supplier of all kinds of dance fabrics. Mostly stretch, they stock velvets, satins, lycra, powernet, etc. And they put mints in their parcels! MINTS!!

AngelFabrics.co.nz - Another NZ suplier of dance fabrics. Very helpful, and great for sending out samples and swatches as required.

Stretch House - really good site for stretch fabrics. They post within 2 weeks and the samples are free and come within a week.

Trim Fabric - also really good store to get unusual fabric but there are 2 downsides, they don't stock regularly/if at all and the postage is really, really slow.

Glitter and Dance - recc'd by a kiwi cosplayer on cgl, great supplier for dance fabrics and stretchy stuff. Great range!

NOTIONS

Angeltrim.com - biggest range of closures and fastenings I've ever seen. based in Hong Kong, very cheap, and quick shipping. If you need frog closures, HIGHLY reccommend these guys!

Stan's Sewing Supplies - awesome, AWESOME supplier for all kinds of zippers. Very cheap, ships fast, and is kind of amazing...because it really sucks when you cna't find the right zip.

Ortensia Sewing Supplies - If you are making a corset, thinking about making a corset, or even just interested; LOOK HERE. Ortensia have a great range of busks for a very nice price, and the owner is pretty much the loveliest lady you'll ever have the pleasure to meet! If they don't have something in stock, email and ask - she's great at sorting out little bits and pieces. I think she's also getting a new supplier for boning soon, so spiral steel will hopefully come back into stock.

DYES/PAINTS/CRAFTY STUFF

Dharma Trading - Number one stop for fabric dyes, paints, batik stufs, urea, wax...very reasonably priced, and shipping is fast. You can buy procion dyes and the jaquard range of fabric paints locally...for three times the price. :/ Just make sure you select the right shipping option - it will give your three or four, and you need to select the one you want or it will default to the tracked one, which cost mega$$$$$$$$$

Etsy - for those unfamiliar with it, Etsy is a craft vendor's community. Individual sellers trade handmade or vintage stuff, OR supplies for handmade stuff. If you need jewelry findings, cameos, interesting cabochons, ring blanks, whatever; you will find it on Etsy.

Aradani Costumes - elf ears and prosthetic goodies!

COSTUME ACCESSORIES - TIGHTS, GLOVES, ETC.

Love to Dance - dance tights, leotards, good quality and a NZ company.

We Love Colors - looking for coloured tights? Striped tights? Checkered tights? Look no further! Massive range, but definitely worth doing a group order with - shipping can get pricey if you're only ordering one or two items.

Honestly, ordering fabric online isn't always more expensive...and sometimes it's the only way to get stuff. Which is pretty lame, but hey. Internet generation of fabric shoppers, go!

You want ears? - Ear kits in every colour and shape you could imagine. The shipping was really slow, but the products are excellent and so easy to use!

, things like high quality sheer to the waist tights- and nude bras/leotards with clear straps and since they are created for dancers you know they are bomb proof!
