Dyeing help/advice needed!

So I bought 2m of stretch twill that was a bit too dark a colour. The fabric had about 20%? of spandex, or a lower percentage. I can't quite remember.
I want to know if it is possible to dye it so that it has a yellow tinge without making it any darker than it already is.
Can I achieve this with say, tea leaves? I heard different teas give different shades of yellow to brown.
If I use dye, what brand would you recommend? How much dye do I put in? etc
