CHCHers going to Auckland Armageddon?

So now that it looks like CHCHgeddon is probably postponed until next year is anyone else considering going to Auckland (Halloween)? I'll be going but I want to know if others are interested in going for group motel bookings and flights. The only problem I'm seeing is accommodation as the Rugby World Cup is on at the same time.

It hasn't 'officially' been postponed until next year. Bill has hoping to have it this year still (I think he he was hoping to hold it in August)

Currently I am not planning to go. If cheap flights/free accom/general awesome cosplay groups are happening I would reconsider and attend~

Well flights are going for around $79-89 one way at the moment so that's pretty cheap!!

As for CHCHgeddon not happening - if it's on then I will be going to CHCH instead but from things I've heard Bill is having a bit of trouble finding a location.

Sorry I should have put it a much better way but I've been thinking about this lots and have gotten a bit muddled with my facts.

I'm thinking about maybe trying Dunedin. Though if all else fails, Auckland Geddon could be a second/ runner up option. But I'm thinking Dunedin, instead of Auckland.

I'm going, since I've got free accomodation and cosplay groups I need to be in. =D But probably only for two/three days, since missing two days of school at that end of the year could be bad.

I'm definitely going to Auckgeddon and for all 4 days, I will probably fly up the day beforehand and leave the day after Geddon finishes. I'm keen to stay with other cosplayers, either in a motel or backpackers depending on price and location, Abella would be the best choice but that depends on the cup I guess. :think:

Is anyone else staying for all 4 days?

No one seems sure. But the latest rumor is that Bill may use the Canty Uni for a scaled down free event?

I will go to DnDn, but thats a smaller anime only event.

I thought Auckland was moved to later to avoid the RWC?

I don't expect flights to be too bad, although sounds like we missed the $60 flights. I don't think accommodation will be too costly either, if it's not booked out. But I have inquired at the Abella, and they haven't opened bookings for that far ahead. They are going to get back to me. But I wonder when.

On a side note the Sake Bar has confirmed they are available for a meal/karaoke. Does anyone know which night the ball will be?

I would say it is very busy for bill. He had to cancel hobart because he didn't have time. Plus his office was damaged. And now he has to finish off NZAE. So who knows if/when?

Minimum of $30 per night Accommodation. Check air fares on the airlines websites. About $15 each way to/from the airport. Plus any food, buses, purchases, etc.

Um, ... well I'm not sure I have a group yet. It would make it cheaper and more convenient. I think I still have a room penciled in but ...? Have to sort stuff out soon though. Haven't decided which days I am going either.

One exam the day before, the second, a week later...

I could try aiming for it, will see if I can afford it. If only to meet Paul Eiding and Steve Blum. I have a birthday between now and Geddon which might help.
