Wellygeddon 2011 Shoutout Thread

OKAY, with the convention over and everyone more or less recovered/back in their respective cities/alive, i thought it might be good to take the time to say a couple of thankyous to people who made the weekend work. please add to the list if someone helped or supported you in particular!

first of all, i think the judges deserve appreciation for the fact that they worked tirelessly on the contest on sunday (9am to something like 4.50pm if i remember correctly)-- that's a whole day they put into it for everyone!

thanks to will for arranging the costume changing rooms-- i heard from many people (and the thread in this subforum) that it was an absolutely amazing resource to have and you were a gem coming to lock/unlock the doors to keep things safe.

thanks to jess and kylie for wrangling people and doing the parade, the hall was packed and it was generally amazing. <:

also, thanks to everyone that came and supported cnz at the cosplay games panel! it wouldn't've worked without your enthusiasm and participation, so we really appreciate that.

totally seconding that comment about the judges-they were so tolerant and kind-i'm sure it would have been a massive weight off their shoulders had they just given up after our audio didn't work off the bat, but they went above and beyond on our behalf, and we are so, so grateful.

I want to say thanks to Angie, Teg, Kylie, Anne and Lucy for all their help with the cosplay games - and thank you to all our participants as well - particularly those who had to put up with our massive DERP in forgetting the PICTURES for the costume making. orz

I also wanna say thanks again to Lucy for getting so many photos of us, and thanks to Drittzy and Kagerouhi for being total bros through the 999 photoshoot! You guys rock my world. Very Happy

Lastly, I wanna say thank you to anyone who came up to talk to me or hung out with me over the last two days. This weekend was made awesome by the people involved in it, and that's all down to you! <3

I want to thank Anne, Matt, Greg, Lisa and Mandie for all your help in trying to get Kuhn done. You were all bros, and even though we didn't finish, you were amazing in giving me a hand trying to get it to work at all. It's definitely going to BE finished sometime, and some of the stuff we did-- especially the painting because homg Matt you are so neat and wonderful-- will be maintained for the final product. <3 When I get my rego retyped for the second attempt at NZAE, there will probably be at least a page dedicated to how wonderful you all are.

Thanks to Jess, Alex, Alena, Greg, Lisa, and probably a few more I'm forgetting due to lack of sleep who were there for me during my maaajor breakdown phase yesterday, because I needed a shoulder (or in this case, five or six shoulders...) to cry on, mostly in a literal sense (lol Jess) and I was glad y'all were there for me.

Also JUDGES ARE ALWAYS LOVELY, even when I am not comping-- I never doubt your decisions, and I appreciate the work y'all do so much. Cosplay at 'Geddon would be nothing if not for your help and diligence with the competition. GOOD WORK FOREVER GUYS.

And yes, for those people who laughed at our skit Very Happy

no thanks to people who kept saying 'oh your costume is not done! what are you doing!' during dinner on sunday while i was already half dead and delusional from not sleeping (yay for 6 hours in total for four days straight)
