| You bring a bag slave. Which is a person / brother / sister / friend who you have bribed to come along, carry your stuff and take photos of you.
Mine lasted two years, sadly declining this year |

| Thirding the minions. Or don't take one, just sew a vaguely appropriate large handbag or maybe stealth pockets. |

| I take a single, denetly sized bag and drag it about all day, putting it down for photos. I like to have quick access to my stuff and know where it is at all times. |

| One of my cosplays this year has a bag 8D. But my other one only has a small bag, so that day I'll just lug around a bag with me and put it down for photos (what I normally do). |

From what I gather, this room isn't supposed to be for people's bags, only a place for cosplayers to get changed. If you leave anything there basically it might get stolen because it's at your own risk. Also, you'll only be able to access it during three specific times during the day.
If you're talking about general carrying stuff bag- I just carry it around with me. It's good for holding a water bottle/camera/stuff I've bought and I can always hand it to a friend if someone wants a photo. |

| I think a lot of people are thinking that, but I don't think that's what Will (the guy organising it) is intending it for |

Re: Dear Wellygeddon goers... By neimhaille. 31/03/11, 03:35 am |
| For my Catwoman costume I made a cat bag. Miss Kitty (get it?) Anyway she is just big enough to hold a tshirt and tousers and phone, wallet, mini make up kit.
This was so I could change at the venue or just cover the catsuit and be able to catch the bus if I had to.
If you know people travelling by car see if you can carpool or use it as a place to store a set of clothes to things you need only at the start/end of the event. But keep all valuables with you.
If you have make up use those gel alcohol hand cleaners to mix your own palettes (crumble eyeshadow/powder foundation/blush etc and then mix with the gel and press into a clean palette) so you do not have to lug several containers.
A big costume is is great for having a place to hide and store phone and camera. My Reinette gown has huge hoops so I can carry a pillow if I need it ;) I have slits in the underskirt and petticoat and separate hanging pockets which can be worn with gown from the 16th to 19thC.
I often put my bank card in my boot if I have one. Just remember it is there..
For Samara I made a nifty purse from an old film cannister (Power Rangers go!) painted black with a leather strap. It works with all my sci fi costumes and is a talking point. It usually has my contact detail cards and make up and then random bits.
Defnitely keep your phone and camera as close to yourself as possible, so pockets under the costume are ideal. The crowds get pretty close and things do get lifted. Sigh.
I also tend to have cash in notes in my boot again to prevent it being pilfered an because the atm machine can be hard to get to.
So basically try and build storage into your costume as much as possible and if you have the chance to store clothes near the site that is also ideal. |
