Advice?

I'm attempting Misaki from Kaicho wa maid sama...
But my maid dress isn't really like hers... Mine has long sleeves that don't expose the shoulders and the middle part isn't white like hers...

Would that make a lot of difference? I kinda want people to recognize the character instead of just thinking I'm a maid.

That shouldn't be too hard to change.
Are you any good at sewing? (Hope this isn't too forward of a question.)

I'm alright at sewing... No the greatest. But i'm always afraid of screwing something up x3
I was thinking of making the white corset like thing with the black ribbon to go over my dress to make it look like Misaki's more.

I was going to suggest that too.

Also, you could just shorten the sleeves to the right length, I don't think it matters whether you have those slits in the sleevs and shoulders. Those are pretty wierd shaped sleeves.

Focus on the corset first because that's a big focal part of her outfit.
