So for people trying to keep up to date on this;

Please inform me of any updates or anything I have missed.

Make up and wigs;
Minifies: Cashel street, on the Phillipstown side of Fitzgerald Ave.

Craft supplies;
Hands: Cnr Normans Road and Wairakei Road.
Spotlight: The Colombo (Mall), Sydenham.
JayCar: 85 Gasson St, Sydenham Electronics and Polymorph pellets
Lincraft: Eastgate Mall, Linwood.
Lincraft: Bush Inn, Riccarton.

Art supplies: ???

Fabric shops:
Haralds: 47 Birmingham drive, Riccarton. Most helpful service in town.
Fabric Vision: Main North Road, Papanui.
Fabric House: 121 Wrights Road, Addington. (More of a upholstery fabric/drapery. But useful for heavier printed fabrics for historical style costumes.)
Global Fabrics: Not in Christchurch ATM. Samples and mail order available from the Dunedin store.
Kutwells: Colombo Street, north of South City. (Cheap fabrics!)
Spotlight: The Colombo (Mall), Sydenham.
Lincraft: Eastgate Mall, Linwood.
Lincraft: Bush Inn, Riccarton.

Haralds is red stickered. I doubt it will re-open for awhile (unless they move shops)

Kutwells is in the red zone so won't be opening for awhile -haven;t heard about the building itself

Oh and Moorhouse is so junked up in traffic I wouldn't suggest driving to that new store xD

Yeah I assume both Hop Yick Trading and Kutwells were still red zoned.
Haralds and global fabrics will have to move somewhere, and so don't really have an opening date. I assume Kutwells too.
Moorhouse Ave is mad along a lot of it.

I drove past Morelands about a week ago and it and the surrounding shops looked closed - not sure though since I didn't stop to look for a sticker.
There is a shop called the Discount Emporium in Bishopdale mall which sells craft suplies. There's a good range of lace, ribbon, zips, buttons and old patterns for $3 each. It's next to the Mitre 10 along the wee walkway

There is also a small craft shop in the back of one of the malls at New Brighton. Also has some fabric too. Not sure how it faired though? Halswell is also suppose to have a haberdashery.

Edit: Morlands Fabric had boards up and a container across it, and people working. Presume that means it is under repair, or shifting or something?

Update on kutwells: I had a decent glance down columbo street (that all you can really do) and there were quite a few buildings being taken down around where kutwells is... Things aren't looking good guys >_<;

Nooo!! Just when it got re-opened!! The fabric shop situation here is not great at all!! I would have thought that the Minifies on Cashel would be closed - is it not in the centre of town?

I would've thought that the Cashel St Minifies would have been closed, too. Wouldn't it fall within the cordon?

Looking on the map Minifies is just the other side of Fitzgerald ave. So probably the website is perfectly accurate. (And the cordon keeps getting smaller.)

I would like to point out that save mart over by chipmunks has near thousands of boots (mainly black). ranging from short to above the knee. sizes are mainly 6-9, most of them are all in pretty good quality and yes~

Savemart site say all there stores are open. Toffs in town is probably in the cordon. I don't know about Toffs Ferrymead.

one of my colleages from work said Toffs was probably going to be demolished. but please don't take this as fact it's just word of mouth not official

^I wouldn't be surprised by that. It was an old brick building.

Also I hear through the grape vine that Kutwells is ok. Not open for business but standing~ More info will come with time I guess ^_^

Global fabrics is going to be partially demolished, though the pictures I have seen make it look munted.

I have added in some sewing machine/supplies shops into the first post that I presume are open. Can people confirm any of these? There are more in ChCh, but some are close enough to the damage I am not sure if they are open?

So what's happening to the fabric that was in the South City branch? They had lots of fabric I need to finish my Eternal Moon but they don't have it at the Papanui branch... oh the frustrations!!

According to the map knutwells is outside the cordon. So would south city. Global fabrics is still inside the red zone. None of the websites are very informative.

I passed a sign on the way today that said Kutwells have now reopened.
