Something that's been on my mind for years now By Tallboy-Dave. 19/02/11, 08:54 am |
| Does cosplay always have to be, well, so outlandish? I've wanted to try out being someone like Keiichi Morisato or Keitaro Urashima for ages, but I've never known if he'd be acceptable, given he's just wearing normal street clothes (you know, jeans and a woolly jumper, that sort of thing). |

| No it doesn't have to be outlandish. It can be done how ever you choose (or who ever you choose ) |

| Ah. That's something that's been on my mind for years, like I said. I've wanted to do a Keiichi or a Keitaro for ages, but I've always ended up second-guessing myself. |

| I reckon those sorts of cosplays can be the best sometimes. For your wallet, at the very least. There are loads of cosplays which are really simple. Like a lot of Katekyo Hitman REBORN or Bleach ones. The complex and more recognizable cosplays are there but there're also plenty of casual ones. So why not~? It's still cosplay. |

| If it's just for hall or casual cosplays you can put it together with whatever you want, and quite a few of the characters you can get away with essentially a closet cosplay (put together with existing cloths from your closet).
If it's for the competition on the other hand, there are rules around how much of the costume you actually made, so if it's all store bought (or commissioned) you can't enter the competition, but you can still cosplay around the venue. |
