I heard on the news that there's quite a serious storm scheduled for Auckland tomorrow - they're warning people to stay inside and Civil Defense and the police are alerted.

Anyone worried? Will DO possibly be cancelled/postponed? pale

Am I the only person who saw the news tonight and just acting like and old woman? Haha

On another note, I've been abandoned by my friend who was joining me so will be attending by myself - come say Hi, if you see me, haha!, I'll have a giant 'KIRA' parasol! Very Happy (though it's in katakana...lol ) Very Happy

I don't watch the news, I read Stuff instead. Civil defense is saying dont go out unless you gotta.

Yeah I'm still coming up regardless - we're switching to the bigger family-type car to take rather than the little one as it gets blown around if it's really windy.

And I suppose we'll be inside anyway *crosses fingers*

We'll all be fine my dad is on alert to get out the chainsaw and cut down trees and get the dogs out to rescue people. We'll be the first people he comes to rescue, he says the storm starts midnight tonight with light rain, get heavy tomorrow midday and by 6pm it will be torrential with somethinglike 115km.h winds and 20cm of rain. So hopefully it'll be fine. (My dad is Civil Defence and Usar)

Urban Search And Rescue, when buildings fall down there they are with the dogs infact I have one dog right next to me...she wants food -_-.

Have you heard of landsar? something about finding people in the woods it's funny all the stupid people that wander off the track that they find it's like a duh moment.

Yeah I think it's in one of the hotels rooms or something - speaking of which, how BIG is the room actually going to be? Does anyone know how many tables there are or anything?

I'm just wondering if there will be enough...entertainment for the whole day...lol!

lol, yeah, I looked it up. Razz and nope, never heard of landsar either. lol, not sure I even know where the Civil Defence Centre is in my town, although I do know it's listed at the front of the phonebook which permanently gets kicked around the lounge.
