My DO2008 Haul By creature124. 26/07/08, 05:49 pm |
| I bought alot of shit at DO...I figure I might as well take/post a photo since I have it all arranged.
Total Cost sits at $310. Note that doesnt include the two volumes of Hayate no Gotoku I bought at borders (~$50). All of the posters were freebies except the Kagamin one, and the Basch figure sitting atop Baltheir was a freebie from my mate Alex (tall mexican dude, probably pestered you for photos if you were in cosplay).
All up, the day cost me somewhere in excess of $450. And it was worth every penny.
After all, there have to be SOME perks to working fulltime XD |

His attempts at conversation can be a little awkward, but hes an earnest sort of guy. He does go a little picture crazy sometimes.
We all had a ball of a time. So glad we didnt decide to cancel due to the weather! |

Only time will tell if I actually had that money going spare or not XD Once I start shopping, I find it difficult to stop. Buying the Lancelot (and paying for my mate's Guren, pending repayment) sorta opened the floodgates. |

Re: My DO2008 Haul By creature124. 27/07/08, 02:14 pm |
| FUX! I was getting a peice of Lancelot off its frame thing, but my grip on it wasn't so good and when i cut the last bond, faster than my eye could follow, it was gone.
My preliminary search has turned up nothing. I don't even know what direction the bugger flew off in.
Oh well. Time to spend the next hour looking for the blasted peice.
--Five Minutes later--
Ah, thank god. Found the bugger. It managed to fly a whole 2 meters, hit the curtain over my front door and fell to the floor XD |

So much money. I'm with Azeria. Stuck. In. Wellington. Uhuh, Suzaku's Knightmare Frame.
Things a bloody fiddly model too. I took a look at the instructions, guessed maybe 1-1.5h to complete. nearly 3.5 hours later, I'm only halfway through >_< Still, the cockpit was the worst bit (bloody Suzaku's arms kept falling off) and that out of the way, but all I have done is the head, pilot compartment section and one measly arm to show for my time >_<
And I wanted to post pictures tonight....oh well, ill finish it tomorrow after work.
Or maybe I'll take the day off. I do feel awfully sick *weak, pathetically fake cough* |

Re: My DO2008 Haul By creature124. 28/07/08, 06:06 am |
| Triple post. I hate myself right now. But this is large enough to be good for its own post.
Lancelot is done XD Quick photoshoot picture:
I love the effect of the flash on the plastic. Makes the figure stand out well in the photo.
What does everyone think? This was my first attempt at any kind of modeling, so I think it came out fairly well. I do intend to buy some modeling paint for the swords. sheathes and gun though. |

Re: My DO2008 Haul By Serin. 28/07/08, 08:07 am |
| is this the kit that only came with one little sachet of paint? You did pretty well if it was XD
I used to be into modelling, and its easy once you plan and have bought the basics. The hardest part is getting the paint, as they all look the same, but arnt (damn you Tamiya!) |

Re: My DO2008 Haul By creature124. 28/07/08, 09:00 am |
| Actually in this kit there was no paint at all - all of the pastic was pre-colored, and there were stickers for the red sections. It was my Kira figure that came with the useless little sachet of red paint.
My fingertips hurt. Some of those pieces were bloody hard to make fit. Worth it though. I smile every time my eyes stray from my laptop screen and I see lancelot and my other figures I bought at DO. I have them all out of their boxes now.
I'm a little peeved though, since Mateus the Corrupt's instructions said the top of the staff comes off so you can put it in the figures hand. Instead, it broke >_< I need to buy some superglue and stick it back on.
Lancelot is mah fav, but my Balthier and Squall figures run a close second, even though I havn't figured out a decent post for Squall yet. Once I have them all set up I'm gonna take some more pictures and post them up here XD |
