i don't want to carry an umbrella to block the sun out when walking to/from uni, but wearing a cap/beanie means my forehead is tinted half-purple by the end of it oTZ

..... We can get the entire population of a decile 5/6 high school to be completely and utterly silent for 2 minutes. It was intense. The school felt like a freaking ghost town and we have a reputation for having some of the most disruptive students in west auckland

^ Polytech down here had two minutes of silence, too. Broken only by the burbling of a toddler in a pram, and two girls walking near me listening to their iPods so loud that people in the vicinity turned and glared.

I tripped up the stairs today.

during the two minutes silence, i whacked about 20 people who started talking in the area i was hanging out in. Once the school bells rang again to say the silence was over everyone started clapping.
I said to a friend saying, "why are they all clapping? Clapping for an earthquake that has killed 154+ people?"
they replied: "No, they're clapping cause they can talk again, and thats all that really matters."

I'm 17, and i dont even get people my age.

^ I was in the info commons when it happened and there was a year 10 class in there at the time. The bell at the end of it went and the silence suddenly went awkward. Everyone sorta just looked at each other, unsure what to do.

^I couldn't really speak properly till nearing the end of the period after. Even then it was short sentences.
