Wondering how to make this

Hey, so, thought I'd ask since I'm new to this kind of thing and I'd probably get it wrong if I don't. ~~I really hope I haven't asked the forum this already~~

mmk, I wanna make the cross attached to her shirt:

But I don't pretend to be an expert at that sort of thing sweatdrop

I'd like it to be light, so the fabric doesn't sag when I glue it on.
How do you guys think I should go about making it?

Actually, see those little black lines - they could be thread. It could be neatly sewn on like a button if you think glue might make a mess of the dress. O: Just an idea.

You could make a thinnish model out of fimo. But if that ends up too heavy I'd say maybe balsa wood?

Also super light is paper clay, and this stuff called Super Clay (it's like foam clay!).

@ Ravin: Ah, those black lines don't actually exist. That's 'cause of the person's editing >_> Sorry! All the photos without editing were teensy.

If you're making it from paper clay or similar, you can also look at whether it's worth embedding a pin clasp of some form, or even a couple of small safety pins into it so you can take it off when you want to (or for cleaning).
