Tidus' sword material?

So I'm planning on making Tidus' Brotherhood sword! (My first prop! Whoo!)
I'm kind of a noob when it comes to dye materials...what is that coloured plastic stuff called? Is it fibre glass? & is it expensive? Where do you get it? Tidus' sword material? Icon_razz

I think it's fibre glass and i think you can get it at bunnings... I think.

Try a pool place or someone who specializes in fiberglass like car body repair. They're cheaper that hardware stores.

You could also try making it out of wood and putting a few layers of semi-gloss varnish or plastic varnish over it to give it the "shiny" plastic look.

I'm planning to do a Daniella from Haunting Ground at some point but wasn't sure how I'd do her giant shard of glass.

if you want it lighter, and are really epic at painting, you could do it out of that BEDDING ROLL FOAM that you sleep on when tramping. it doesint cost that much and is easy to cut and shape.
