Prince of Persia By Cookie Monster. 07/12/10, 05:44 pm |
| I just finished watching it, and will have to admit it was very good for a Disney movie (even if some of the acting was poor).
For some reason it reminded of the old He-Man cartoons (not the movie wth Dolph Lundgren):- Alot of action and swashbuckling. |

| Well, last Disney movie I saw was Cool Runnings. I think was was way back in 1993.
From an 'older' perspective, Disney movies non-anmiated Dsey movies seemed "theatrical". And seeing that most stuff which was cool/good/awesome is now lame, or boring to the younger generation. |

(I've yet to see Prince of Persia so /ninjaout) Tangled seems to be getting some good reviews. And Princess and the Frog was good too. But apart from that, you have a point. There's not many good Disney movies out these days.

I recommend for you to watch the Lion King, Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan. They are really great Disney movies. (: |

I havn't played any of the new PoP games (due to the fact I have no PS3/X-box 360/PS2/Wii/DS). The only one I have played was the original game the Atari ST. It was awesome! |

Re: Prince of Persia By Thornback. 13/12/10, 02:21 pm |
| there was a period of absoute beauty and majesty from 1989 to 1994 when Disney could do no wrong-then came Micheal Eisner, and things went steadily downhill. Very Few movies since The Lion King(which is pretty much the best thing disney ever did) had the same spark. Pocahontas had gorgeous animation and some great music, but a lacklustre story rife with absurd inaccuracy and unfortunate implications. Some problem for Hunchback, which was very banal at times(although it had the boon of Disney most horrific villain. Hercules-Whut. Just Whut. Mulan is pretty fabulous, I will admit, but it was the exception rather than the rule. Tarzan was beautiful, but it felt kinda...forced. And Phil Collins? Ughhhhh. And then Came the 2000's, and 2-D animation went into a coma.(This is all my opinion-by all means, watch and decide for yourself.)
Tl:dr:Most animated Disney films from the late nineties are Good, but don't capture the same spirit as their early 90's predeccesors.
ANYWAY There are very few Good Live action Disney Films. There are Fewer Good video game movies. Prince of Persia managed to be both, but then again, it's simply that-good. Not terrible, but not outstanding either. Its predictable, and doesn't have great rewatch value, but its a fun watch.
(Cool Runnings was my favourite movie ever when I was wee. JAMAICA WE GOT A BOBSLED TEAM) |
