For your face to-become clearer/whiter? By Guest. 15/12/10, 07:48 am |
| I hope i have this in the right post -_-
I'm a person who needs to make my face clearer and whiter~ for my cosplays~
What should i use? and what do you recommended for a clear skin cosplay? The reason is that my skin has imperfections...and a bit dark...due to tanning -_- What cream should i use? what make up should be worn? I Really need help~!! |

| I'm not a makeup expert my 2c and experiences, feel free to disagree/improve 8D
My recommendation is you go into farmers they have a good selection of the brands some cheaper than others, right now they'll have sales and what not.
It's powder you're after that usually does the covering more than something like concealer. Concealer while making your skin perfect looks a little caked on and it's never really the right shade it goes a little more orange. A foundation with powder over the top in the shade you want should do the trick to cover most things and it will lighten your skin 8D
And I'm going to recommend Aurellions tutorial cause it's awesome and explains everything better than me 8D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_CXKb4WnDA |

| If you have dark spots and tanning I suggest using a liquid foundation that is a couple of shades lighter than your natural tone for lighter skin
For dark spots invest in a decent concealer
Personally I have a bad complexion but still manage to get the flawless look by wearing
1. Concealor 2. Liquid Foundation (mine is a good long lasting one with awesome coverage) 3. Matte Foundation 4. Powder (Loose or compact depending on the situation) |

| Fleyer - Concealer shouldn't look cakey if you're using the right type for your skin. There are all types of stuff- it can come in cake, liquid or cream; just like foundation, and so just like foundation you need to find the right formula for you. It's best to apply with a brush as well, you use less than you would if you were to use your fingers. Concealer also shouldn't be more orange than your skin- if it is, you're either using concealer that has oxidised or just a colour that's completely wrong (sometimes the tone can be wrong but the shade can be right- check for something that's 'neutral' or 'pink' toned if you find this keeps happening).
Also, some people need to use different types of concealer on different parts of their face (some people have very sensitive eye areas and can only use liquid formula there, but need a thicker cream concealer for the chin/nose area), so it pays to be mindful of that as well when looking for stuff.
@Thread - Is your face darker than your neck? If so, find a concealer - if you have a few very dark spots or other things you need to cover - and foundation/powder (or both, if you have a lot of discolouration or other blemishes) that matches the colour of your neck. DON'T BE AFRAID OF ASKING PEOPLE TO HELP. That's what the folks in the cosmetics aisle are there for. Don't let them brush you off- that does sometimes happen- just be stubborn and you should get some help. And remember to wear sunscreen! SPF in make up often doesn't go higher than SPF15, and you generally need more than that if you're out in the sun for a while. You should be applying moisturiser before you put on make up anyway, if you can find moisturiser that has a high sun protection factor in it, go for it!
If you know your general skin type (oily, normal, dry, sensitive), I can probably suggest a few brands for you?
Also, be prepared for make up to cost a lot. If you buy cheap make up, it is most likely going to look that way.
There's nothing more you can do for your skin, I wouldn't trust skin bleaching options (you can't legitimately buy them here, have to get them shipped in from South Asia) and if you can't be bothered waiting for it to fade, make up is really your only option.
Edit: OH MY GOD wall of text, sorry guys. If any one needs clarification on something, let me know. |

| Most of the above posts have already said what I would, but here's a couple more things:
1. If I want my face just a little bit paler, I dust some talcum powder. Talcum powder is also great for absorbing oil. However, it doesn't produce a huge change.
2. If you were willing to spend a small fortune, I would recommend buying a airbrush kit. These, in my opinion, produce the most flawless looking skin a human can achieve without photoshopping. (My mother used to do beauty therapy and I loved watching her use these kits)
3. Be careful with making your face paler, what is your natural skin tone like? Warm, Dark, Olive? Just remember you might not suit pale skin that well (I don't mean that in a rude tone, just advising).
Also, I definitely agree with what Le Sabotuer said, don't buy cheap make-up. Remember, this stuff is going on your skin and if it isn't of decent quality, expect bad results.

| I can recommend the maybelline mineral powder and za true white powder for your face and/or neck- both available at farmers, for paler skin/covering up imperfections. Especially za if you have olive skin, but do be aware that some of their products can make you look REALLY pale in photos because they have SPF. |

@Thread: If you're looking for how to achieve a certain 'look', then you can just look up a tutorial on youtube. If by that you mean like a shota look, I think Tammy did one?
Edit: HAH! I found it. You should take a look if that's what you're after.

Airbrushed foundation is LOVELY. It can look pretty fake in real life (it looks too perfect, it gives such an amazing result that there's no tonal variance in the skin), but it's definitely my favourite for photos. Such beautiful results.
