Red Wigs - Goodish quality? By Rikku. 08/01/11, 04:38 pm |
| Wig I found
I was looking on Ebay tonight, just cos I could and I have the entirety of the internet to peruse and have no idea what to do on it. But anyway. I was looking on Ebay for red wigs to go with my secret cosplay for ChchGeddon. I saw this one and I loves it, but I don't know what sort of quality it is. Orange and m4hiain say it's an average wig(and tbh an average wig is all I really want/need. My Cloud wig was a Party Wig off TradeMe and it's holding up okay xD), but I still don't know. So, I thought I'd come to CNZ and the endless(or almost endless) supply of uberly awesome cosplayers for advice on it. I looked at a few other wigs, too, but they were all too bright or too short or stuff. Too bright would make my face look TERRIBLE(as I'm a natural blonde and suit blues more than reds), and too dark wouldn't be the right colour. The little description says Japanese High Quality Synthetic Fibre, but that could mean ANYTHING.
Sooo... What do you guys think? =/ If not that one, do you have any suggestions for me on what to look out for, or sellers that sell good(and reasonably cheap/reasonably priced) wigs? I'm going to be a student again soon and will be as poor as the rest of us xD, so I don't want to spend $80+ on a wig if I don't have to. Help me please?
Much love!!! <33333 |

| I'm not an expert on wigs, but from experience i'd say by ' Japanese High Quality Synthetic Fibre' they're meaning kanekalon (or even toyokalon) which is your standard 'qood quality' synthetic wig. Better than party wigs' material i think, feels more natural, reeeeally soft, and can be styled easily in most cases, even with heat (mostly low, sometimes you can score heat-resistant ones from Japan 8D). Only downside really is they can tangle easily if they're long and not kept well, just like normal hair i guess c:. For more info check out~ http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-different-types-of-synthetic-wigs.htm. And judging on the picture this wig is just loveeeeeeely, the colour looks great <3 and irl it shouldnt vary too much from the pic. So i think you should definitely buy it because it's good quality and pretty cheap! US$15.. Shouldn't that be around $20ish NZ? Do it 8D Also check out trademe, most of the good wig bargains on lately seem to have no picture showing when it comes up on the search, has a title like C-2352 (idk XD) but are of the same quality, kanekalon, so pretty good and pretty cheap too, especially when the postage is only like $5 as compared to eBay's shipping oh US$11. They have all kinds of naturalish colours too. So browns, blondes and reds. 8DDDD I LOVE WIGS |

| From what I hear WigFever is a good brand, though some people have had trouble with the red not being the same as what's seen on screen. |

| Wow. Thanks, Number IX. You post is amazingly helpful. If this was FaceBook, I'd totally like it. XDD That link helped out heaps, too. 8D I have $100ish for living puurposes for the next week(which include buying material and food and that's about it), but $30...... /Hum's and ha's. I shall talk to m4 about it today. 8DD
Also, Azeria, I'll keep that in mind when/if I buy it so I'm not too disappointed if it ends up being the wrong shade. =DD
Thanks, gaiz!! You were really helpful! |
