How To make Malik's Rod

Hey there guys. I'm cosplaying as Malik Ishtar, I hope to finish making the cosplay in time for ChchGeddon but his rod has me stumped. It looks like this:

Someone suggested that I use piping or something for the rod itself and a polystyrene Ball for the round part and paint it gold. But it's those wing things that have me really stumped. How the heck do I make those? :think:

What can I use that will stay on won't be too heavy to fall of.

If someone can help me suggest what to use for the wing things and other bits and pieces then that would be great. Very Happy

I'm also having trouble finding/deciding what to use for his earrings too. sweatdrop

if i were you, i'd cut the basic wing shape from cardboard, attach the cardboard to the center piece, then paper mache them into shape. Oh, and i'd recommend spray painting the rod gold. :) If you want, you could ask this person: http://birdewilliams.deviantart.com/ how to make the rod - i'm a fan of her on dA, and i've seen a few pics of her cosplaying as Marik with a VERY well made Millenium Rod.

Thanks for the advice but I already dropped this cosplay a long time ago. *Pokes date* sweatdrop

Still it's nice to get some help even at this late stage, lol. Razz

I'd like to keep this thread open in case it may be needed by other cosplayers wishing to cosplay Malik and needing help, if it's alright with the mods that is.
