Where do you get your wigs from?

Srsly! Im so confused ;w; do u people actually like pay $80< odd for a good quality wig!? Buy them overseas?! Where the hell do u get such smooth wacky colours anyways *cries in my noob corner*

Although yes, alot of people do pay up to $80 for a good wig.
If you can get a good quality wig for $40 or so it's a great deal, otherwise $60->80 isn't uncommon.

Alot of people do order in from overseas, usually eBay or Cosworx, although more recently alot of people have had good feedback about crazysales wig deals - you can see the thread below.

Edit: PS - getting a wig cap thats a suitable colour to match the wig is good to hide your hair too, and also likewise another reason to avoid low quality wigs, if the wig isn't thick enough (not enough strands) you'll tend to see through it to the ?wig support/netting?, and your hair.

EBay for me too. TradeMe and Cosworx sell them as well so do some people here sometimes, check out the marketplace, I believe that Tammy is ordering wigs for people as we speak. ^^

Also, there's no need to use caps and swearing, people will be more likely to answer your questions (And be nice about it) if you ask nicely. I understand your frustration but there's no need to get so antagonistic. 8/

yep, Ebay~ where many of the sellers get their stock/or are from China

just make sure to check out the seller's feedback, whether they ship to NZ (cause theres many of them that don't DD; ) etc.

And once you've got the $80< wig there's shipping... and styling... and detangling...

The crazysales wigs are good quality but they're limited in what they offer. It's the same with most things in NZ. Like JP said: If you're looking for cosplay type wigs (fun colours/styles/etc) then you'll need to look overseas for it. Just like the rest of us. XD

Keep an eye out in the marketplace subforum, a lot of people order their wigs/other cosplay items together to save on shipping.

I get 'em from Crazy Sales ['cause it's cheap and gets there fast] for natural coloured wigs and then I get my other ones off Taobao from a friend who goes to China every holiday~

www.splurgeville.com and wigfx.co.nz sell really good quality but pricey wigs. Over-all better than ordering from overseas as they are in NZ (AUCKLAND).

Just make sure you don't accidentally buy Trademe wigs that look like $2 shop halloween dressup bleh! (experience) Oh, and ones with no pictures. Stay away from the ones with no pictures. <.< (experience)

And also stay away from the ones on Trademe that do not give the size of the wig. I brought one and it was too small. -__-

I was gonna say, with alot of the crazy sales ones, they are like, incredibly small and it's hard to get them to stay on your head.

I get my wigs from ebay, mostly. And back when Harmony was ordering wigs and from a friend who shipped some from China.

Generally the best place is eBay, unless there's currently someone doing a wig order from China (as they are cheaper, normally).

some wigs have free shipping (or are sneaky and put the price of shipping into the price of the wig)
but you can just look around ebay with the 'lowest prices + shipping' setting thing.

Wigs on ebay can be reaally cheap, just take your time looking. I recently ordered a 51" red wig for about $45NZD free shipping. In NZ it'd be $80+ for one in a natural colour in only half the length. But yea just be careful with the sellers and quality of the wig

Also with ebay, make sure you check seller feedback and ratings
i usually stick with cosplay stores i trust and look for brands i know to avoid bad sellers

one word- Taobao.

Thing is, Incarus mentioned that Ebay Wig sellers are usually Chinese? They are 99% certain to have a Taobao store that sells the exact same products for half the price- sometimes even less- due to currency rates and so-forth.

therefore my suggestion is to get your Chinese friend, FIND your Chinese friend, or heck, MAKE a Chinese friend. certainly not hard to get on of those in NZ. lol.

otherwise always look for the larger stores on Ebay, for they have the most buying power and will be able to provide a wider range of goods (including specialty wigs that have to be custom made) for the lowest price and maybe cut the shipping as well.
