Need Sewing Tutor or somesuch person

Hi,

I did my first cosplay for Auckland Armageddon which was fun and all but as I can't sew emo

I had to buy my costume. I was hoping that there is someone out there who is in Hamilton that would be willing to teach me how to sew as the costume that I would like to do next is not one that can be bought (as far as I know) and i kinda want to enter the proper competition next year. If anyone is willing to help me out please let me know.

I possibly could... It depends on what you need to learn. Like, machine sewing, or following patterns, or whatever ^^

well I'll put it this way the last time i as near a sewing machine was year 9 and in intermediate all i had to do was look at the overlocker and it would stop working! if you look up Alice in the country of hearts i was thinkin of doing either Boris or Joker...maybe Ace... (would eventually love to dress up as vivaldi but way too frufru for someone like me to make!) argh too many ideas not enough skillz!!!

I see - I may be able to help with that.

Most sewing, I find, involves adapting a pattern to the style you want. It seems like that would work for Boris or Ace, after my quick google search, but Vivaldi might be a bit more difficult!

I usually just improvise a bit, work things out as I go, WITH planning beforehand. I'm pretty good with innovation ^^

I can help you with using a machine. It's all about confidence. Sewing machines can sense fear.

well your innovation seems to work! your costumes rocked! i shall have a think about how to go about stuff for and then come begging for your help when i get to the actual sewing part!
