Women: Flattening the chest. By Tamoo. 29/11/07, 02:34 pm |
| First things first, when crossplaying as men, flattening your chest hurts the first time and its usually uncomfortable. -___-;;
If you have small boobs, i would strongly advise wearing a sports bra instead when cosplaying in baggy costumes. But your chest might be noticeable if your costume is really tight, so the only option left really is bandaging your boobs.
Sport bandages from pharmacies works quite well. Heh. Even normal cloth bandages work, you just have to make sure they won't come undone and is secure.
Duct tape works just as well, just um... remember to protect your delicate spots with bandaids or something of the same sort. >_>;; And be gentle when taking the duct tape off your skin... Wear an old sports bra and/or singlet, then put the duct tape over.
If some of your bandages can be seen, try using skin colored sports bandages or if you have only white bandages, try putting foundation on it (not recommended as you'll be needing alot of it unless only a little is showing)
Any other questions on bounding your chest, etc?

| The way I did it is I just wore a tog top underneath, a one-piece helps flatten somewhat. Do not I repeat DO NOT put any kind of tape or duct tape on your bare skin. EVER. |

| Actually - I have the opposite problem. >_> I'm planning to do a Lulu from FFX for Wellygeddon, and she is quite - well, curvy. So, has anyone got any tips for expanding the chest for cosplay just off the top of their head? |

| YES SOCKS. But do not use waterbaloons. Hehe. If one bursts while you're running, well. That's not a good look. Though they're okay for feel factor. HAA! |

| Actually - I checked out Trade Me, and uh.. Found some inserts. >_< [dies] I hope they don't come packaged in an Adult box or anything, as I got them sent to my Dad's work - Courier was the only delivery option, and where we live at the moment won't accept courier deliveries.

| Okay, I'm cosplaying Tidus (FFX) and Dante (DMC3), so really, I need to know one thing-
HOW THE HELL WILL I GET OPEN SHIRT STUFF DOWN RIGHT?!
Like, seriously. I've got a pretty small chest, but it'll still be difficult. Tips? Please?
The Americans on cosplay.com confuzzle me. @_@
Also, just so people don't go O_O at Dante... I'm gonna be making the chest strap/holster slightly wider to hide my chest better. Otherwise I'd probably be kicked out of 'Geddon. |

| Mm... :/ Like I said in my first post, try getting bandages that is closest to the color of your skin. Thats probably best if you don't want to go and buy extremely expensive stuff like fake skin stuff. I'm not sure about that though. |

| Hey, there's an idea!
Bandage my chest, then latex over it.
Hehehehe... I'm so insane.
Hopefully I can buy some latex to do so with. It's not too badly priced, and considering I'd be using it quite a lot next year, my father or mum would probably shout for it.
Thanks for randomly giving me the idea, Tammy! ^^ |

| Another suggestion is to bandage your chest and buy some skin coloured lycra and create a bodysuit. If you know of someone who is good at art you could then get them to airbrush/paint pecs and six-pack on the lycra, like what they did in 300 for the spartans. Although I heard they had rubber/latex suits so maybe your idea is better. :) |

| One of my friends is good at sculpting latex around on people, which is why it'd be best for me to use latex. :)
But still, what you suggested sounds interesting... |

| i have to do open shirt binding for timeskip!sasuke- but you can do it a much easier way that using latex which is usually very expensive. D8 there's a tutorial on how to do it here; http://www.freewebs.com/tsukuyomi/openbinding.html and it actually works really well- but it is a little painful. |
