I'm kind of disappointed over Yuna coming in to be honest. I was kind of hoping for some Celes or Fairs. :< (<- FF role models ) sigh/ disappointed. :<

yea i reckon celes would have been a great new heroin
as she has a good grip of both swordsmanship and magic
(plus she is hot) XD

X-2 yune would have been cool too...
though i suppose the gunman role has already been taken by the man laguna

Maybe Yuna will be able go between classes like Cecil goes between his light and dark forms ? That would be awesome.

Whoo, exciting stuff.

In regards to Celes, cool as she might've been (never quite made it as my fave FFVI character, ahahaha) she'd have been very similar to Terra, gameplay wise, so probably it'd have been pointless.

RE: Yuna, I'm really interested to see how her gameplay style will suss out :B

Lightning seems to be getting the most coverage in the trailer... why is that? rofl. I'm super looking forward to the new gameplay additions they'll put into it and the fighting styles for the new characters, Tifa in particular atm. World map system lookin' pretty cool there, just the way I thought it might be.

Now some Laguna info spam. Laguna's alternate outfit is apparently his Galbadia soldier outfit. Aww yeah! He's apparently talking Squall out of being a loner (in the JF trailer). Still want to know what timeframe he's been pulled out of, I'm sure Square wouldn't do that carelessly (then again...). Apparently his EXMode is called The Faeries Have Come (reference to Aura...?).

By the way, the guy providing the voice for Laguna in the Japanese version (Hiroaki Hirata) is the same guy who did Balthier in XII, little trivia there for you. I'm looking forward to the English voices they'll provide, they did a pretty excellent job last time.

>: / sad face. I disagree since Celes fights with a sword and she has the power to block out magic and Terra doesn't. Runic ! That's name of it. Celes can Runic, and Terra is magic based while Celes would be using a weapon. So I disagree.

The Runic ability was still pretty much magic based though. Admittedly yeah, she used a sword more than Terra did, but when you count in the number of other swordwielders in Dissidia on Cosmos side alone (Warrior of Light, Firion to an extent, Onion Knight, Bartz who uses everyone's weapons, Cloud, Squall sorta, Zidane, Tidus... etc. etc.)... Also the Runic ability is probably something that only really works/works the best in a turnbased game. eg. if you're battling someone who doesn't use any magic spells at all then the ability is pretty much moot...

Reading up on Vaan's fighting style. Something of a cross between Firion's and Bartz's in that he changes weapons with each attack. That sounds like it could be cool.

BIG UPDATE POST 'WARE YE

NA Release date is set as March 11 2011. That's really quick... Is it just me or are they churning out games really fast lately? XIV came out quite fast too. (Then again, different team in all likelihood, so...)

New character for V is Gilgamesh. New character for XI is Prishe. Aaaand, surprise! Aerith is in Duodecim as well! HOWEVER only as an assist character and only for those who get 'Dissidia 012 Duodecim Prologus Final Fantasy', which is the demo. Her attack is 'Seal Evil' which freezes the enemy and leaves them open for an attack.

Characters in Duodecim Prologus (lol) are: Warrior of Light, Kain Highwind, Jecht, Lightning, Garland, Kefka and Sephiroth. Cloud is an unlockable character.

Quote :: The demo features a single storyline with Lightning and the Warrior of Light as the main characters. It also features an arcade mode with seven starting characters and one other who can be unlocked. Arcade mode features two difficulties--a 5-battle run with level 20 characters, and a 30-battle run with level 50 characters. Cloud's a badguy because he's a puppet of Sephiroth, and Terra is a puppet of Kefka. In the beginning of FF6 Terra was mind controlled by Kefka, and in FF VII Cloud was mind- screwed by Sephiroth on many accounts. In fact, Sephiroth ALMOST made Cloud murder Aerith by his mind- control. D:

Tidus is on the bad side, just because Jecht is on the Cosmos side, so hating his Dad he joins the opposite team.

Also, this no spoilers. The game isn't out in Europe yet, or America. Just hunt around FF places online and they'll get you the info (=

I'm not getting the game, because of the lack of FF6 and FF9 characters and those are my favorites >: and I can't stand Lighting and she seems to be have taken main role over Warrior of Light. Though I've seen some trailers online, and Kefka and Kuja ARE AWESOME.
