Try telling that to the old lady outside the church down the road, being comforted or my poor Mother who narrowly avoided getting crushed by falling packages in the supermarket. Perhaps it's fun for you but I know a lot of people who don't view it that way, large aftershocks like these are dangerous and are nothing to sneeze at. It was no small rock 'n roll btw, these ones were huge, one was 4.9 or something like that. Shocked

I for one wish that Chch would stop rockin 'n rollin, these stupid aftershocks need to sod off already.

RMD. Don't take it so seriously. My Brother could be loosing his house, his house is a mess, there's mud and sand everywhere, there's cracks and holes and he can't use normal water anymore. etc, etc. The comment before was just a light attutide on the situation. I know that there's people out there suffering because of the earthquakes, I'm not ignorant towards the people that are not coping because of them.

I didn't wake up for the 2am one (I fell asleep half an hour or so before so that's prob why
But I was working for the 4.9 and I was not impressed.
They didn't evacuate the mall as the alarm doesn't sound unless its a 5.0 or bigger *rage* There was physics plaster falling off the roof!!!! And a set of stairs by the carpark to the roof is now physics. They didn't close the mall cause it was boxing day, one of the highest earning days of the year and people were more worried bout getting their shopping done instead of getting to a safe place where the mall won't fall ontop of them >_<

Vodphone says DO NOT try to call in or around Chch unless its life-threatening, leave the lines for emergency services.

watching the news right now O_o.

It's terrible because it was at such a busy time of the day.

No casualties have been reported yet.

Cathedral took a major hit. The Airport has been evacuated and there have been no injuries there.
.....and there was just an aftershock O_o

Services say stick to txting or very short calls unless life threatening. Hospital and Airport have been evacuated.

Argh, why must tv be downstairs, I'm constantly running between the breaking news thing and twitter.
