Managed to get the shoes for my cosplay. If you ever need japanese shoes (I think these ones were zouri) go to made in nippon on queens street. Mine cost only $45. I'm using white socks for the tabi and Karegouhi says in her sig that my costume is 20% done.

Faye Valentine yellow bits 98% complete! Just need to bind the edges of the top, whip up the red shirt, and do the braces. And hopefully, psych myself up something AWSOME to wear the stupid thing!

Painting for Claire is about half done - two coats of silver is still damn flat, so may need another coat or two. Grah.

Yay. Some progress from me! Making Horohoro from Shaman King. Since I last posted at the bottom of page 24, I have...

Finished Trousers.

Made Shoes. By making a cover and sewing it over some cheap slip on shoes.
This took a long time to make and was quite tricky, especially sewing it on around the edge where the shoe underneath was very tough at the heel and toe.

^I don't know why its turned out good. I've spent almost all my life playing with Electronics and Computers. Not sewing.
I guess I just did it carefully and made sure it was all planed out before starting to cut and sew. I've been working on this since the start of the year.

Job for this weekend is to sort out a blue wig so it stands up.

How easily is interfacing meant to peel off? I'm trying to do fusible to a 100% cotton material, and yes after a 15 second press it sticks, but it's not exactly difficult to pull off my test piece either.

since interfacing is usually on the inside of a garment, it's not supposed to be put under the sort of stress that pulling emulates... then again, it shouldn't come off /that/ easily. maybe try your iron on a hotter setting/do it for longer?
