| I just figured out how to do the detailing on my Ivy dress! And I also discovered that you CAN dye rayon - I also learned what rayon actually is. Fascinating! Man, I can't wait to do this dress. |

| Skirt is done, wig is... brushed. ORZ. It's twice as long as I need it but it's too pretty to cut ;A; It would be fine if I wasn't so short XDD
Fabric is in a little pile for me to do something with tomorrow. Just need to do the waistcoat, bow, sailor collar and a quick white top (aka potato sack with sleeves 8D) |

| My pattern lied. Jacket is too short and I don't have enough time/material to make it longer. ARGH. Otherwise, almost finished jacket.
lol my ACP costume is going to suck. At least I can change it for Chch though, learning my lessons one by one haha. |

| I looked at patterns for my cosplays at Spotlight and did fabric browsing! This is some sort of progress. NOBODY HAS PLAIN RED GINGHAM. It's always corded and/or a shade too dark and/or the checks are too small. Blargh.
And wig choice is made and semi-secured (ilu Pura). My Turtlebank is crying little tears of sadness, but Hotaru might end up all the better for it....
Now I just need to find wood for his crazy shoes (Tengu Geta. A fitting name). |

| About 90% done with a commission, and managed to make a start on my MGS flightsuit last night - it was a lot easier than I thought, and consequently is nearly finished! I need to wait until I have cotton in a matching colour before I topstitch anything, and I'll have to put in a few more zips (like...five) for the pockets, but it's looking good! Omnomprogress. |

- Spoiler:
Will get a way poofier pettioat for it; it may not look it, but there is actually a petticoat under it at the mo D: And ignore the polar fleece on the floor - working on my acp cosplay.
Need to organise all the fabric and stuff in bags all over my sewing room floor before I can do anything else easily. |

Re: General Progress By Le_Saboteur. 28/01/10, 09:21 am |
| Either I've lost weight from my rib area or the pattern thing I drew up for my Jill of the Jungle dress was HILARIOUSLY off. Couldn't be physics unpicking everything I'd done so decided to add darts up the back... now it's too short so I'm gonna have to wear netball shorts underneath. Black ones. HOTT.
Better than flashing all the youngins at ACP I guess. You should be thanking me!
I also underestimated how high a strapless bra sits on your back... so I'm gonna have to make an under top to wear. /MAJOR FACEPALM
Still, other than that, it's done. This has turned into a massive headache, ahahaha. |

I've sewed my yukata sides together... and my sleeves... I need to attach them on and make an obi... and then finish that tiny appliqué corner off... then I WILL BE DONE! Huzzah.
//collapses
EDIT: sleeves have been sewn on! Just got the Obi and appliqué left to do...! |

| FML Just hemmed my skirt but I have a feeling I'll have to unpick it all. It's all puckered, and probably won't iron out.
Anyone got any tips on how to hem a circle skirt done in fabric with stretch? (Mechanical 2-way stretch) |

| I've never worked with stretch fabric, but try a stabiliser underneath? I have no idea if that is suitable at all.
Erm, iron it down beforehand? Ever since I discovered "iron-it-flat-before-sewing" method, life has been so much easier. |
