| It's official - I am 4.5m short of lace. I am going to buy an extra 6, in case I messed up AGAIN. This is very frustrating!! What the hell kind of demon-dress uses over 26 metres of lace?! IT DOES NOT NEED MOAR RACE. GUH.
However, it looks pretty awesome |

Re: General Progress By Li-Bai. 26/01/10, 08:29 am |
| ^ That is a hella lot of lace. What cosplay is that for, anyway? @____@
Weird little story about lace. I once bought some lace to make a Songstress cosplay and around the same time I was making a Lucrecia cosplay. I needed some lace for the front of Lucrecia's shirt so I decided to take a bit from what I had there'd be plenty left. In the end it turns out I was ONE CENTIMETRE short. (Fortunately the gap is on the back of the collar so my hair covers it and no-one can see it anyway. Still though....)
Alrighty, so I've been looking around the internets looking at other peoples' cosplays of Hotaru (SDK) to see what they did etc. Hotaru does this thing with the back of his kimono/yukaka where he pulls it up at the back and tucks it under his obi as seen in this picture (far right). Okay, that's all well and good - so then why is it that in all of the cosplays I see of him, virtually nobody does this?!
ETA: Also, buggar you, Hotaru, for having such damn hard hair that I can't quite name what style it is. I was considering a Scruffy but I don't think it comes in his hair colour (whatever that is too. Like, a dark blond?). Wisp has his possible-colours but I'd need to cut it a little bit. I found [this] on eBay which is like, virtually perfect style (and free shipping!?) but it's a little too yellow maybe? Still though, I may well buy it (//impulse wig buyer). Thoughts? Is there any way to make it darker, more orange maybe?
I have a month until Uni year starts. I should get cracking. D: |

Re: General Progress By Rowan. 26/01/10, 12:28 pm |
| @Li-Bai: There's characters in Amatsuki that do that with their kimonos, although with longer ones haha. Maybe people just forget to to so, think it isn't important, or don't realise what it is/that the character does it? It would look good if you did it. |
