Sorry guys I've been snowed under with everything lately so I haven't organized a themed chess match.

BUT!
Still turn up HERE (sorry I stole your picture Freeze people, firefox kept crashing every time I opened up the one on the geddon site >_<;).
Turn up just before 10am SUNDAY and look for me in a BIG BROWN JEDI CLOAK. Pieces will go o a first in first served base and if you miss out on the first game you can join in the next one! If you and/or your friends aren't so keen to be a piece, still come along and cheer on friends and your fav cosplay characters!

If you have any questions or would like my cell no just to be sure you find us (there will be a BIG chess mat thats hard to miss but hey) PM me~

I don't know half the characters on that list so if you still extremely keen to be in the themed chess match and WILL BE THERE could you PM me what your character is like.
Happy/sad, (bubbly/emo), good/bad/darn right evil, outgoing/sticks to themselves, thinker/emotional, etcetc
Don't need a long character description, but a few describing words will help~

Date/Info:
When: Sunday 10am
How long: 20-30min approx
What is this? For anyone that doesn’t know: cosplay chess is basically chess using real people (or in our case cosplayers.) For one game we will also make an attempt to make a themed cosplay match, (i.e good vrs bad, emo vrs bubbly etc.)

How it works:
(Note: we will be playing small chess, so no this isn’t a game that’ll take hours, we are aiming for around 15 minutes.)
On a giant chess mat, all pieces (from pawns to kings) will sit on their equivalent starting squares.
Two ‘players’ will play a chess match, and when they make a move, will tell the piece (you), where to go, (i.e Naruto move two squares forward.)
When one piece takes over another, an ‘in-character’ battle scene occurs, with the loser being the piece that is taken, and who ‘dies' in a dramatic way.

Information:
Notes: This is known as small chess, the mat is a little different and there are less players needed. 20 pieces total, 2 players, extras and summons TBA)
~ You do not need to know how to play chess to be a piece, as you will be given instructions on where to move, who to fight etc.
~ You can pre-practice an in character death scene or fight~

Signing up:
~ When you sign up, please tell us the character you are cosplaying from and what the show is. This is essential as we want to try and make this as in-character as possible. We may pm you to discuss further, especially if we want to assign you a special role.
~ Tell us you are confirmed or just a maybe (for whatever reason.) We don’t want people to back out on the day as a piece missing would kill the game.
~ Once we have enough people keen and can confirm we will be running this event, we will assign you what piece you will be - this depends on what theme the game is, and what character you are cosplaying as.

I know we haven't got 20 interested pieces yet or a second 'player' but I remember last year we had heaps of people both playing and watching~

Just checked the schedule of events and I think Sunday 10am (same time as last year) looks the best.
(there is 9.45am – Superman/Batman: Apocalypse Movie screening and 10am – Lloyd Kaufman Troma panel on at the same time.)

We'll probably do the themed match first and then have another game afterward with anyone who is keen to take part. (hopefully both games will not take longer than 30min -including set up and instructions etcetc)
