Sewing Meeting 9th July

oh bother! I've just realized I can't make it! I have dinner engagements (heh. party at a friend's house) that night...

If required, if people are having trouble bringing awkward/heavy things I can offer a ride to this to anyone between Linwood and Spreydon/Barrington, home would be.. anyone who lives approximately directly north of Barrington obviously space is limited though... let me know

Just a couple of things before I forget.
There is hot water if you want to make a cup of tea/coffee. You will need to bring your own mug and supplies though.
An extension cord will be needed if you want to plug in your machine as there is one power point on the ground I will bring a power board to plug into.
Cost is $3 to cover the cost of the hall, rubbish bags, and heating.
If some one wants to help set up please contact me as I am going to be picking up the key before 6.30pm.
If you are going to be doing something messy please bring a drop sheet or newspaper to spread out.
I hope I don't sound to anal.

I'd help you set up, but I'm not sure if I'll make it- I'll try, really really try.
Though I can't say forsure when I finish work could be from 6-6.30 and by the time I get the orbiter... it'll probably be round 7 when I arrive I guess iunno.

Hey I'll come in after work, if anyone needs a ride between linwood and this place I can pick you up, I'll finish work 5:30-6 so I can be a little early depending on if anyone needs/wants a lift

It's older than every forum member here and my mum, but it still works, so it could be handy?

It has a vinyl foot and needle, too, so anyone sewing thick fabric can have something to work with.

If you are bringing a sewing machine you might want to bring an extension cord. I have got a power board, but you will need an extension cord.

Last night was great.

Thank you to every one that came, I hope you all had a good time.

Ten people came, there were 3 sewing machines and one overlocker brought along and one roll of chicken wire which through the course of the evening began to look like it would be one awesome wing.

There will be a new venue for the next craft/sewing night, as we have been asked to leave because the women responible for hire claimed 'we left the hall untidy' which is a load of lies and so I had a few words with her.

There is no need to worry I am thinking another night is going to be a month away and that is tons of time to find a new hall.

Cheers to everyone that came and I hope you all enjoyed yourself. I hope you will all come to next months, where ever it may be.

I mean, how the hell do you sweep any better than we did?

And what else were we supposed to do?

Yeah, that was really neat, I hope we can do something like this on a regular basis. I was impressed with the chicken wire-wing progress. I stupidly enough left all my fabric at home so I only had something to hand sew ^_^

Dozy, I'll enquire about that hall I mentioned last night, it may not be as easy/cheap as I'd hoped, but I'll enquire further anyway.

The lady said that she had to spend 20 minutes sweeping up after us. Which I can not believe, that hall was swept by us and I still have a bag of dust and fluff in the boot of my car as proof.

But, we can forget about her.

Yip, there are more planned I am just organising a new place we can work at. Which I should be done by next week. Then I can either start a new thread with the contact information or just post on this one.
I am thinking mid-week again in a couple of weeks.

Sorry for the long delay, but I have been kept busy with some things. I am going to be going to aussie for three weeks from the 18th aug so I won't be able to organise a new meeting time. If someone else wishes to do so go right ahead, if not when I get back I will get right onto setting up another meeting.
