Ohmylordy. We just downloaded the first episode to see what it was like... It's low budget, which means they kept all the music including the OP/ED but the voices are terrible. And I mean terrible. Teenagers sound like adults and adults sound like teenagers. No one pulls of their character. Original names are kept but pronounced in ways that make you want to kill kittens. And so forth. Alex will cry himself to sleep after seeing that. XD;;

The pronunciations are terrible.

Some voices are OK and suit the character, but they're not realy... convincing...

Sunohara sounds like a wimp with his voice breaking.

I say it sounds better in Japanese. For one thing, being an animator in training, I look closely at the mouth shapes and the English voice actors can't even do the timings right. They usually 2 to 5 frames outta synch

Just buy the sub-only, really.

My thoughts:

Tomoya - sounds decent. Character kind of fits, not too many complaints
Nagisa - Sounds alright too, apart from the prounciation. I got some Nagisa-ish vibes off the actor, so yeah.
Sunohara - Yes I know Yamaguchi sounds girly but they didn't need to get an ACTUAL female to dub him. Just sounds weird...
Ryou - Sounds too strong. Needs to be softer and meeker.
Kyou - Character wise, it fits, but I think shes a tad too strong.
Misae - awesome casting.
Tomoyo - Not as Sexy as Houko.
Sanae - Not 17 (45).
Akio - Nice manly shouting, but lacks the GAR when speaking normally.'
Kotomi - Ok, she CAN sound pretty good, but most of the time, she's terrible. She lacks the distincy raspy-type voice, and sounds way less doji than she should. However, certain lines raise my hope. Heres hoping she develops for thhe better.

Heres my opinions:

Tomoya: Sounds a bit to old, but meh
Nagisa: Shes okay, a bit deep
Kotomi:Her voice seemed so easy for a girl to portray, She doesnt sound like the silent cute smart girl anymore ;A;
Tomoyo: She sounds great!, not as hot as her jap voice but it works XD
Sunohara: A bit to high, but will serve well in his comedic moments, poorly in his serious moments.
Misae: Sounds perfect
Akio: Quite suitable, bearable
Sanae: Sounds to young..
Kyou: Okay I guess, shes a bit to low and strengthy
Ryou: Near perfect for me xD
Fuko: Not the same as her jap voice, shes got a cutesy vibe like a female spongebob xDD

Most people pronounce the names wrong but I dont really care, just as long as I dont have to read subtitles anymore XDD

Im glad not everyone is complaining about this, but heyy, if you dont like the dub the dvd will have the ubs on it XD, which Ill prolly watch if my friends are over (Except catness because she doesnt mind >>; )

i KNOW the dub is overall budgit, but hey, Its bearable XD

ADV defiantely didnt dub this one, im not sure if it was funimation, but last I heard they bought the rights to dub clannad, (You can buy rights? Clannad official dub 116847

The problem is that is dub. Im glad that its in store soon but... dub anime ruins it sometimes sad

The only dubs Ive heard that ruined the anime, is 4kids....

I can see how some people can think that, but im not very fussy when it comes to voices in anime, just as long as they DONT do what 4kids does and changes the soundtrack, storyline, personalities, AND over cencors everything...
