Who likes/ the hit TV show *Glee*? Papa don't preach posted- Glee Singalongs Icon_biggrin

Well I do, and I reckon we have a pretty talented group of glee fans (aka *Gleeks*)
who would be keen to sing a few of the songs from the show- just for our own fun- at Cosplay meetups, or Geddons, just informally.

So I'm getting my new acoustic Guitar out, and learning the chords to some of the songs made popular by Glee. What I wanna know, is which songs people are interested in singing, and whether any musicians are keen on playing as well.

So far my songlist includes:

I'm probably not the most on-key... and my voice isn't very well suited to modern music, haha, but... I would still join in! 8D

Oh I would most definitely join in. Although I'm slightly shy about singing in front of people, I've been told I have a nice voice. Embarassed

Edit: Also, True Colours, Somebody to Love, and No Air are songs I rather enjoy singing~

Awesome- CSI really knows how to rock!!! Sadly I can't make the Timaru camp but Im looking to fly up to Christchurch for a weekend in Jan or February to catch up with some friends. Let me check my timetable, and I'll let you know when I'm in town, as I'd be keen for a get together/Jam.

@Homicidal Heroine: Oops sorry, gotta update location to Invercargill.

@Pyro: Awesome, I'll let you take lead for Don't Stop Believing.. which I can sing but sadly my guitar skills fail when I do.

Just checked my timetable... how bout a ChCh meetup the weekend of Jan 16-17.
Who's free to hang out/jam?... gives you two weeks to recover from the Timaru camp.

Addit: I have some friends in ChCh who I'll probably be staying with, I just need to find out where they live.

That's pretty cool. If there was a singalong in Auckland I'd have to sing boys parts, too.

All the girls in the show have such high voices. Sheesh. Not to mention, the boys sing softer instead of so hard like the girls (okay, so clearly I have no idea of the technical terms), so it's easier for those of us who suck XD

I love TinTango x 109834598 for this idea.

Edited to add: Just heard the Glee version of Proud Mary. Dude, it's AWESOME.

Will add proud mary to the list. Im gonna try and post my first practise demo up this week... as a new year's pressie. Hey what site do you post MP3 files too, so they can be shared?

Also, which should I do first- Don't stop believing, Defying Gravity or Papa don't preach? (Sorry those the only 3 I've got ready at this point- and remember the guitar parts are novice level only).

Just practising Defying Gravity...
the Glee guys do it in A, which is way too high for me, and probably most people (defeats the purpose of a singalong), so Im gonna bring it down to G. I'll post up the first draft tomorrow or New Years Eve.

BTW this is really stretching my range! Altho it's a bit of work, I can't wait to hear what you guys think, and what it would sound like as a Singalong- with harmonies for the chorus.
