Apologies to Amura who i originally was going for a mana costume wiht, but since Gintoki;s gonna cost a couple hundred as it is, i can only cosplay ONCE.

I can tell you now, my size MAY change by may as i'm gonna work on losing a bit of weight, which could aid in the options of fabric for this.

I already have a wig on order (and need to pay her badly!) and just need to suss out the costume and boots... boots may be a kick in the bum because they could cost me a CRAPLOAD.

My UTMOST expensive budget for this costume would be 200 NZD.
I know i wont be able to enter the costume contest, but i am determined to rise above my personal demons and fears about cosplay at NZAE (Size, ADHD and personal conflicts) and try and pull this off.

I have a bokken i can borrow (My friend sean has one)... and i've seen this anime, and i know what Gintoki's like.
I dont beleive anything but the boots would be leather.

Would like to see possible elastic in the pants (make them wearable in future LOL) if not no big deal :)

depending how accurate you want the boots, you can get similar pairs as the ref image of gintoki (not the ref image of the boots alone) for less than $50... and i'm probably overestimating the price even then. search trademe. <:
you could probably modify said pair to look like the boots in the ref image of the boots.

Mmm the only issue is i wanna be "AS TALL" As gintoki LOL meaning i'm about 5'4 or so, give or take a half inch either way, Gintoki's 177 CM, about 3-4 inches taller than me Very Happy

so i am looking at platform options. But if i dont go that way? I'll take your suggestion :)

i got 10cm platform knee-high boots for $30 from trademe, including shipping. [: several other forumers have gotten the same make of platforms from trademe, and i know one other got a different type of knee-high platform boots with taller platforms for about $45 without shipping from trademe.

psh o and i would've use the hello cosplay site -
but i would rather give business to a local cosplay comissioner..
and would assume that hello cosplay tends to make em' fairly generic >.>

Besides LOL i may cheat on the yukata/kimono overlay and have someone make the shinsengumi haori instead Razz
