robot if I remember correctly meant when first used, 'mechanical slave'
fictional robots are always a good thing starting with say 'Metropolis' going through to say Stanley Kubriks last film A.I. Science fictions portrayal.

The other thing that jumps to mind is that british scientist who has directly surgically inserted a circut board into his wrist so he can type and control his computer by moving his fingers. So the idea of robots and humans becoming closer is nearer than you think.
