| I'm at eighteen. A lot of those are thanks to extension English in High School. Good times!
I thought Anne Rice's other series would be up there, but it's just the erotica. Which I definitely didn't read at 14 >.> /creepykid |

| I haven't read very many, but I know of a lot of them and it's just ridiculous xD Well, that list is my now reading-for-the-year list.
But, seriously, Harry Potter? I can get why people would take offence at the Earth's Children series (I read them between the ages of 8-11 xD) but not to the point of banning. |

| Lots of those books there are regarded as 'classics' or well re-owned titles. :/
Anyways, I've read:
- Goosebumps (Series), by R.L. Stine
- The Witches, by Roald Dahl
- Harry Potter (Series), by J.K. Rowling
- Where’s Waldo?, by Martin Hanford [AKA Where's Wally]
I haven't read much from that list, but lots of them I see are texts studied in English at my school. ._. |

Think that is related to a Italian movie? If so then I can understand why. |

So a series of books about fighting to save your friends and family from evil, learning your strengths and weeknesses, freindship, trust and love are bad, but a series of books about an abusive peadophile gets a round of applause all round? Methinks some people miss the point. Harry Potter isn't ABOUT the magic - if you replaced Hogwarts with a school for genetically engineered super-geniuses the story would go exactly the same. It's ABOUT the power of Love. |

It's ABOUT the power of Love. Some people are really sensitive on the subject of Black Magic. It's just a fact, and Harry- Ron etc do go to school and learn how to cast spells/ perform Black Magic, which some people - just don't /wouldn't like.. Got bored of Harry Potter after Sirius died/ Book Five- so yeah can't judge much, though was just mentioning one of the main reasons out there why Harry Potter is a targeted book to be banned..

| Ah, what I mean is some of the same people who loathe Harry Potter because of the magic absolutely adore Twilight, and ignore the vamps. Sorry, I was unclear there I've read a few "overheard on the subway" type websites and things where people are "Grrrr.... Harry Potter witchcraft, evil etc... OMG, EDWARD!!" Also, the same people who were condemning HP loudly when it reached this level of fame are COMPLETLY silent about Twilight. My peculiar set of favourite websites would have found it by now if they were Apparently it's the fact that "Vampires aren't real" that saves it. ??? |

| What vampires aren't real! I know one. I must tell her she is not real.
Of course they don't go around killing people, flying, transforming, burning in sunlight (any more than I do.)
And I class HP as tripe, as well as twilight. There are much more interesting fae/vamp/magic series out there. |

Yeah true, but thought also heard that Twilight book burning is now happening too- though wouldn't be surprised if that was just normal Twi- Haters xD [Wouldn't book burn for any personal reason or belief because it just makes the author more money.. ] lol that doesn't save the book, and believe people should be worried about the Twi series because of the messages Meyer is sending to young girls and woman across the world. Wrong messages..
Twilight should be be banned just for destroying the name Edward.. >_> srlys..
@ Highlander - Those people are just acting/ pretending like they are a Vampire, it's just a cult fashion at the moment to pretend to be a Vampire and *try* and suck people's blood.. >>

We can blame Twilight for a lot of things, including the fact that the ENTIRE young adult and romance section of every book shop is currently packed with vampires. We can blame the felt uterus and the wall decal of the stalker in your bedroom on Twilight.
Unfortunately, we can't blame people pretending to be vampires on Twilight. Those have been around for at least 20 years.
I heard a fantastic story about people who think they're vampires once. A couple of doorknocking salemen came to a house. Not sure what they were selling, but they were invited in by the vampire. They sat down in the living room with the vampire and his donor. The vampire asked if they wanted a drink. "Oh, no, no thank you," say the salesmen. "Do you mind if I have one?" asks the vampire. "Not at all, go ahead," answer the salesmen. So he opened a vein on his donor and started drinking her blood. They left at highspeed and never came back
WARNING: Do not try this at home. |

Nope. I am not referring to trying. Nor am I referring, as far as I know to pretending to be anything stereotypically vampireish. Nor is it current fad. However it is hard to get a willing, reliable, safe supply. So I guess most vampires are not that active? Since there are not many around I don't really know?
But this is getting a little off-topic. |
