| Oooh! I've always wanted to go to a lolita meetup :3 It would give me an excuse to finally make lolita clothes The only other time I ever tried to go one, I commented how I wanted to go but didn't have time to make lolita clothing by then and wondered if it was still ok to go, and got angry-I-am-WAAYYY-busier-than-you-will-ever-be-and-still-have-time-to-make-stuff reply. I got scared and decided lolitas were scary D: But no more! |

| i find elitist lolis to be a bit of a contradiction in terms. part of the point of lolita is to rekindle to old-fashioned terms of grace and dignity. elitism does neither. /: |

| I agree. Lolitas are suppost to be polite and kind, but then there are heaps of them tearing each other apart and who are really quite rude. Contradictions! |

| 'specially when someone new wants to start getting into the style. and especially in New Zealand. there are few enough lolitas here as it is, without crushing them before they've even brought their frist dress.

| hehehe the lolitas that think theres only one lolita style really make me mad. I have tried every loli style i can find lol Sweet is ttly not my thing XD to much pink && baby blue doesn't match my skin tone... SO i tend to go for the more darker colors as long as it has black in it i can wear it, But i was once told off for an outfit i wore, by a girl she said it wasn't Lolita D: thats weird cos it has lolita on the tag DX... Oh i was about to ask another question but but i'll wait closer to the time 83 |

| hmm, things labelled lolita are not always loli. it just means that they can be priced as lolita clothing and sell for a waaayy higher price. not saying you were wrong, i'm just saying that things with the word "lolita" on the label do not necessarily equal lolita. ):
but no, don't trust labels when it comes to that. they're as unreliable as eBay sellers. D;
i have to say, i've never met a lolita who thought there was only one stream of the style. i'm a classic/sweet loli myself, but i wish i had the time to expland my waloli wardrobe. u.u |

| Oh! Miss Eevee! I saw another lolita in the law block at uni today!! They do exist :3 She was wearing a pink and (red?) dress and had shortish blonde hair (I think!) I squee-d on the inside and my first thought was 'I should tell Miss Eevee when I get home!'
Spotlight is having a big sale starting on Thursday! They have craft material for either 40-50% off and a lot of it looked really good for lolita clothing (I think! I don't know what the material weight/texture is but the patterns were pretty XD) |

Re: Lolita Meet up

| Bad Points:Craft fabric is ususally a cotton so it creases easily. It also is 112 wide and alot of (elitist) lolitas have said that you need at least 3 times your waist measurement to make room for petticoats (this does sound right though....), it also can range from $4/m to $20/m Good points: Craft fabric generally has a pattern similar to those used by Victorian Maiden and other classic lolita brands. Cotton also is light, so if you can get past the creaseness, it usually works well for lolita, many reccomend it, but some people hate ironing v///v
I wanna check this out..but i dont know where the spotlight is in welly... |

It is a cotton sateen. And called decorator fabric. For some reason I remember it being all craft fabric -loves craft fabric- https://www.spotlight.co.nz/__data/page/8804/cat1_img12_lrg.jpg |

| It was a lot brighter (less sweet colours?) than the stuff you wear (wow... I feel like such a stalker I keep seeing you from afar)
Out of curiosity, is there a category for lolitas with REALLY bright colours? Like with sweet lolita there are pastal colours, and gothic lolita dark colours. I do love eye-sore colours... |

| it's difficult to find bright/gaudy colours that don't look tacky with lolita. i suppose punk would come quite close, and i believe cyber is now working it's way into a lolita crossover. but they're both black with splashes of bright. :3 |
