does anyone here actually play this

because if you don't you should. you hunt these monsters right (!!) and basically you use their materials to make better weapons and armour out of so you can take out tougher monsters, so you can get better materials, etc
it's all about the materials

it's also got multiplayer
so you can hunt monsters together !!

I used to play it, I was playing 2nd G (the Japanese Expansion of it, I had a translation patch) I mained using Long Swords and Dual Swords, my typical armour set was the Ash Lao Shan Set.

Had a lot of fun playing the game, but the game has sort of run its course for me.

Any particular monsters you enjoyed fighting?

On a different note, my friends and I had this awesome idea for a cosplay group, have 4 people cosplay as hunters and another group cosplay Lao Shan and basically mock battle preventing Lao Shan from reaching and 'destorying' the convention centre like the Lao Shan Quest. But man, the amount of skill to be put into making all those outfits would be huge.

Yeah, I'd though about getting that but I read somewhere that Unite (the official English version) is coming out in like two months anyway. can't wait !! \o/

I really enjoyed fighting Lao Shan. When I unlocked the dude and realized just how big he was I was pretty impressed. Of course, the weapon I had at the time (Imperial Gunlance) didn't really have a chance in hell to actually kill him, so I had to craft a Onslaught to counter his sugar honey iced tea hp. I mean
it got less fun after the second and third go, but it was pretty rockin the first time.

That would be awesome !!
But yeah, the armour would be pretty tough to make, and there's so many sets to choose from.

How many hours have you put in, man?

Roughly 200 something. And yeah I got 2nd G when an english patch was released since a group of friends of mine regularly partied to take on whatever monsters.
