I adore a certain number of Marvel titles...but DC has my comic loving soul wrapped around it's little finger.

Dc had it's admirable titles, one of it's fallbacks was it's inability to carry the marvel vs dc rampage and amalgamations very easily.. the stories didnt mesh as well, i wasn't very please with that >.>

Image comics had Witchblade, Darkness etc..

SHI COMICS ROCKED Razz (>.> uhm, yea.. that's where i go "IM BI! REALLY!" .. cause i thnk most of the time i got em' cause it was some scantily clad asian lady XDDDDDDDD) But those were crusade comics, and the artist was cool.

Mostly marvel for me, and it cracks me up that DISNEY OWNS IT NOW!

Marvel takes the cake, if you ask me.
DC has some redeeming factors, of course, but it just isn't quite as good as Marvel. Marvel has Iron Man, Avengers, Civil War, and an array of other ones I can't come up with right now.
DC, though, has only one or two good things, e.g. Flash, Batman, and the Spirit (even though the movie was really bad).

So Marvel is the super comic creator here.

^ The thing is, even though Marvel has some great teams and characters (X-Men, Avengers), more often than not the writers are terrible, even if the story arc is good.

Even though I dislike DC because they have about ten lines going for Supes and Bats, their concise stories (of course they did original runs in the day, but they weren't ongoing- there's a definitive end) like The Long Halloween, Batman: Year One and Superman: Red Son are really freaking good. The calibre of writers at DC seems to be a little better, even if I like the Marvel teams and characters more.

But srsly, for great, consistent comics you can't go past a lot of the Image lines.

Hmmmm, VERY true. They are a bit too choppy-n-changy in their authors for my taste. Like in Runaways, there was a FAB writer for the first compendium and then *HUGE BREATH INTAKE* they gave the story to Joss Whedon. Now I normally love his stuff, but he killed Runaways DEAD by involving time travel and evil twins and random 12-year-olds married in 1903. It was so bizzare and I nearly burned my Firefly DVDs in angst.

On the other hand, I like how they reinvented ongoing stories like Spider-man with the Ultimate universe. It soon became my ultimate (hehe) fave, because not only was the story updated and modern (and much better than the tri-colour '60s scariness), but Mark Bagley, the artist till '07 was amazingly good.

Image comics? LOL. It's a bit too...Obscure for my liking.

I've always really been into Marvel but lately i prefer DC. I feel that most of the story lines are deeper/darker and for a more mature audience. Batman, Sandman, V for Vendetta. And ofc Teen Titans~ Marvel is definitely awesome, too! Love the teams and characters but their average writer doesn't even compare to the average DC/Vertigo writer.
Also, I agree with the whole Runaways thing! I thought Whedon did alright with it, i really enjoyed that time-travelling ep but a bit after that it got kinda ridiculous. Just before it was cancelled, was it cancelled? Idk i/my library gave up on it XD
