Cosplay Games feedback
Post By Guest. 30/03/09, 09:04 am

If anyone has any thoughts about how these went on the Saturday at noon, here's the place to share. Very Happy Constructive criticism and ideas for improvements are more than welcome and highly appreciated.

It was really nice seeing a full house, and I've already started the planning for Auckland. (Which, will be bigger and better than ever before!) Thank you to all of our dancers, catwalkers, wig donators, Lucy, Ryan & Matt, Team Objection, Team Believe It, Team Bankai, Team Hold It and of course our lovely audience. whee

Its okay Mandie! This is why we ask for feedback, so we can make them better and better! We'll take everything you said and work on them nodnod

I was really worried that people in the back row couldn't hear... we didn't really have time to hook up the mic by that stage >>
But yes, I agree next time we need to use it.

Thanks muchly Mandie whee

i think (from where i was) that it went very well. the audience were enjoying themselves and got very into the whole Q&A thing (maybe a bit too into it, but hey, a little excitement is what armageddon is about haha). ange and jen were great hosts and their little skits were great, the quiz was funny-- especially the fact that rocky and lennon got axel for the wig styling ahahaha.

thumbs up, props for a job well done & i hope to be of some use to you guys for the auckland games. C:

Urg, I hated that wig so much. No amount of hair spray we used could keep the spikes up.

whee thank you guys, it's great to hear you liked it! and yeah... apologies about the Axel wig; but someone had to get it. ><; you do definitely have my sympathy though!

brainstorming for Auckland will take place after Welly. :3 The plan is to gather up all ideas in this next month so we have something to work from & present plans to Bill. (and also to help get rid of the last minute rush that's inevitable for Geddon time; no matter how much I manage my time there's always -something- that creeps up. Sigh.)

Lol, yeah, you guys got royally shafted on that one! Razz You did well on the quiz though, Nineteen inch thumbtacks were awesome as usual. I had fun doing the Bleach dance, it was my first time performing a cosplay dance in public cosplay meetings don't count as it's just for fun/practice and not in front of a whole bunch of non-cosplaying people. The game were fun but I liked the sunday games the best! Razz

Agree the sound was crap, and the general noise level, such that half way back to could hear very little. Of course I think the sound in the room was not working. Armagedon staff need to check that all the sound systems are working and set up at the start of the convention.

Second it was too small, and orientated awful. If the only way you could see was by the middle isle then it was bad to start with. I know that finding a place for the photographers that is far enough away from the stage to be able to capture the images, and still have room is going to be impossible at ChCh. Main stage would be awsome, but I don't think we have the time avaibale on the main stage. Maybe change the seating to face the side of the room. Lets face it most of the panels in the room are small cosy events, so they would benefit by a sideways orientation with more seating closer to the pannel guest(s). That way the photograhpers could sit to the side.

Lighting was bad, and people were moving (being picky). That why I ended up with bad photos of Fred and the cylons. And that was after deleteing at least half of them. Plus it was impossible to even see the dance properly.

Yeah pre-check sound, and suggest to bill to set up the room sideways.

Thanks for that, unfortunately those types of issues are ones that were out of our control. We'll have to take those issues to Bill and perhaps the Con Centre itself in regards to lighting.

I realise that it is out of your control, but 5 minutes before is not the time for bill to find out about the sound system. Indoor lighting is hard to photograph in anyway. It's O.k. for people veiwing it though. The main stage is always very bad, I mean like spotlights and a black background, mondo contrast. I don't think anything is possible with the lighting, I think we photographer have to live with it. I just don't like using flash. They may work, or ruin the shot. But the actors/participants don't really need too many flashes all the time. Also cuts the battery life.

I'm not sure, or can't remember the problem with the sound system so I can't really comment on the situation there . ^^;
All I can say is that we did go into the room before the Con opened, to set up and test as much as we could. There were panels/events etc before ours with little time between them (as geddon usually is XD).
So we did as much as we could in the time we had.
Heh maybe I should bring a megaphone next time just in case. =P

They had a few mega problems on the main stage too. You would have thought the ChCh Convention Center would have a well sorted sound system by now!

Megaphone=yuk. But if we turn the orientation of the room sideways then you will be closer to most people if there is no sound system too. Just an unintended side effect.
