I believe that Bleach is coming to a close, but there may be potential for a continuation. Example: The Hōgyoku becomes sentient and decides it wants, for some odd reason, to kill everyone.
Me and a friend were collaborating about Bleach-things after reading chapter 420. It was said that if you use the Final Getsuga, you give up your shinigami powers, and if you remember back it says Isshin lost his powers, but regained them when he fought Grand Fisher. Perhaps he used the technique against some bewildering evil, lost his powers and left for the real world? Maybe Ichigo's hollow metamorphosis at that time somehow influenced his father to regain his abilities? (Ichigo's hollow was acting up at nearly the exact same time Isshin fought Grand Fisher)
Oh how I wouldn't mind a filler arc about Isshin.
Also, maybe Ichigo doesn't need shinigami powers to be extremely ruthless and powerful? We see how he is at the moment, and that is without a lick of shinigami-ness. I also noticed that when Ichigo gets a mullet, his powers skyrocket, so longer hair = more power for Ichigo, haha.

I think it might just be coming to a close. Kubo didn't end his last manga, you know. It just kept on going to the point where he just had to say WELL. I'M JUST GOING TO MOVE ON AND LEAVE THAT THERE. >.> /runs
Despite Kubo's many other talents, I wonder if that doesn't mean that he's bad at endings? The argument that the current manga has a bad lead up for an end/too short a time frame/etc would make sense then, because he's never really ended a manga before...
