i'm not sure whether this can be classed as 'important' or not ~~though judging from some of the past annoucements that's a fine line~~ but, i know quite a few of you guys are on facebook and as a general networking/communication tool it's quite useful, so;

Oh noes, but that means announcing my strange hobby to people who know me in RL! Like... university people, and other people who think I'm mature and grown up!
However Cobi already found me on facebook so it's probably too late.

oh, i thought i could hide it too, until i started getting tagged in photos and getting comments like, 'why are you suddenly blonde?!'... so i gave up. |D

In July I was walking through Frank Kitts reminiscing about the picnic we had there with non-cosplayer, grown-up and mature friends and one said "Actually I think I saw you guys..." I maintain a policy that you shouldn't do things that you wish people wouldn't find out about, and I'm not EMBARRASSED about it, it's just it's not something that I talk to EVERYONE about. And when I do I usually refer to it as costuming. Because people already think I'm weird enough and I'm trying to pretend to be mature and grown up.

oh, no, i agree... i don't usually talk about it either, and if forced to i call it 'costuming' because if they don't know the word cosplay, then you have to define it.

and THEN the weird looks start. hahaha.

Heh. I avoid that situation by having two facebook accounts >w> one for all my cosplay buddies and one for... real life. XD
~~then again, it gets tedious to check both accounts, so this method is not too great... hrm.~~

as for the whole real life friends/cosplay buddies: I actually don't care.

this is going to sound horribly cliche, but if they don't accept me I don't want them~ though, I've probably got an advantage: I'm costuming person at school, and everyone knows I'm weird & comes to me if they want wigs organising for a class performance/school production. >_>

I'm with Jen. If they happen to care that I dress strangly, then stuff them. I don't care. I stopped caring about that kind of thing years ago. If I have my friends who are weird, then we are weird together, and that's what matters <:

Although no one else knows that I have Facebook, so unless they care to search my name (which they probably won't - I tell people I don't have facebook 8D) ...

For me, hardly any of my friends have a facebook (they're mostly beboers), and the ones that do have a facebook... well, they know I'm interested in cosplay stuff and support it~ 8D

Though yeah, friends are free to think it's strange - it's their personal opinion. But if they give me a hard time for it, then they aren't friends are they? D<

Anywhoseit everyone knows I cosplay, even my boss - he always asks how its going. Sometimes I work on my cosplays at work ^^ if I have a lot left to do and little time. Like today for instance (NCD2MORROW!) I made my claws, rofl.

Well, my real-life friends (closest ones, ones I hang out with at school, in weekends, etc) ARE my cosplay friends, so I don't really have that problem xD.
