| I have used this stuff:
In blue. It was... interesting. It made my brown/red hair turn a pretty green colour. I think it depends on your natural hair colour. If you have light/blonde hair it will be closer to the bottle colour. |

| ii used Paintbox every school holidays between the ages of seven and eleven (7/11 lawl!). it works best on blonde hair, especially bleached. I can't garuntee it'll come o0n on any darker than mousy brown. Another hair dye is Wakk Stain, which has the reverse results. colour on Bleached looks tacky and retarded, whereas on my current hair (dark brown) it came on wonderfully. Paintbox has a short washout time, but will take a few seperate washes until fully set. Wakk Stain takes ages to wash out, and may leave residual color on finger nails. I have some Wakk Stain in right now and a picture of my(blonde)self somewhere. i can post pictures if you want. Im like the queen of hairdye and bleach, so just ask me if you have anymore questions. |

| My hair has been every colour of the rainbow.
I'm currently using the pink flamingo one. And soon to be trying the goldfinger one (bright orange)
Ive previously used the purple one, and one of the blue ones.
Depending on what colour you plan on going/what colour your hair is now, and what colour you actually choose will depend on the result. I was aiming for a suttle pink, my hair was semi blonde at the time when I dyed it, and I chose the pink flamingo.
This is the result:

This was with 2 bleachings and the blue hawaii (it dosnt look aqua in the tube but its the colour I got:

This was with 1 bleaching and a red (not sure which red It was) :

If you want it to last longer, when you wash your hair, use little or no shampoo, I found that the less shampoo used=the longer it lasted.
If you want it to last shorter, Use shampoo, add a little vodka to it(or meths) and leave it in your hair for 5 minutes. It should take the colour out to the original colour/bleached colour.
Is it for a cosplay? Or just want to add some razzle-dazzle to your hair?
Also, Have you concidered manic panic? Its a little more expensive, but you get more, and it lasts a little longer, also a wider colour range. IT HAS GREEEN<33 where as paint box does not D; |

| FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT USE FUDGE PAINTBOX
Now that I have your attention,
Manic Panic dye, when used properly, is far healthier for your hair, and actually comes out the colour you wanted it to. Manic Panic is slightly more expensive, but you get more, it holds well, and is a lot better for your hair. I swear by it. It's the only hair colour I use ( And I use a lot of hair colour )
Fudge stuff is patchy, and badly developed, and you can see it drying out your hair as the days go on. Also, the colours tend to fade with use, and even things like standing out in the sun tend to make it go funny.
In regards to the actual dying process, wash your hair really well, but don't condition it, leave the dye in for an hour or two ( Manic Panic has no peroxide, so you could leave it in for a week without damaging your hair ) and then spray a little cold water onto it, blow dry it, and then rinse it with cold water. When you wash it, use cold water, and don't use too much product, because you might fade the colour trying to get it out.
Sorry for being long-winded, I'm just very passionate about hair dye. Lol. |

| Thanks for the info guys - I'm just wanting it for a temp dye though, rather than long-lasting. Basically, the shorter it lasts the better! n_n; Also, this will be a one-time only dye, and I'm not planning to bleach it first. My normal hair is medium brown, and I'm trying to go blood crimson - not a lighter shade than my own hair, so the no-bleaching should be okay. I guess, what I'm asking is - I bought this stuff ages back at the recommendation of the hair dresser - do you think it'll be okay? I can get someone else to dye it for me to avoid unevenness, and I have two tubes so I shouldn't run out.
Really, I'm only dying my hair coz my wellygeddon costume involves an exposed hairline, and expose hairline wigs just look silly and fake. n_n; |

| Well, in that case it should be fine, just make sure you put vaseline around your hairline so it doesn't get dyed too, and do it as close to the con as possible, because then the colour will still be really vibrant. If you want it to come out faster, use any of the shampoos that have "Deep Clean" in the title, because that's exactly what they do. |

| That's good to hear. Is it likely to stain showers and whatnot? It's for the sunday of wellygeddon, so ideally I'd like to do it on the saturday night -- but I think the hotel would get angry if I turned their shower red. o.o; |

| Don't worry, paintbox wont stain tiles and stuff, so you'll be fine, but don't flick your hair around and get it on the walls....Doesn't really come off regular walls...Lol. |
