| Like shown in youur picture, but instead of being so wide they would taper more down instead of out to the sides. Then you can reduce the width, also that would reduce the height because you would have the bottom brought up to more of an angle. |

| It's for the competition so i'd like them to be closest to the actual thing. Otherwise i'm sure I would do that. |

| Have you considered taking them as carry on luggage then, if you can take a bike as carry on, or a violin, or even a guitar you can take wings as carry on. |

| Well all the bext of luck with the making of the wings and I think he didn't use that much paper just that you will have to get from Sizes A1-A5 I believe.... Though if you do that you will have to figure out how they will attsch because that person had ribbions hidden in the feathers so he could wear them |

Re: World of Warcraft cosplay By Madam Madhatter. 18/12/08, 03:38 pm |
| Are the wings actually feathers? From this picture they look more like strips of fabric to me.
If you made a foam frame for the really bulky top of the wing with fabric hanging off it. For the rest You could attach strips down the back of your costume. Possibly with bits of really thin wire attached to make them hang right.
If you use some sort of see-through material it would give that translusant look from the picture.
Material strip wings means you can fold the wings into a nice portable package. |

| My first reaction was: MAKE THEM EVILLY FOLDABLE 8D
Maybe choosing them for Wellygeddon isn't such a good idea, you know.... :/ The wings might get damaged on the way, you know how rough they treat baggage. |

| @Madam Madhatter I think I've seen that done before <__< I think I saw pictures on google, and it looked utterly crappy, if that was the result I would get I wouldn't wear it as a cosplay let alone enter it in the competiton. Though then again, it's probably going to work alot easier than feathers(no the wings arnt even feathers >_<) I'm still keen for the paper idea.
@RollEXE Yeh xD I'm all booked out for everything else though, and I really really want to do it for a comp. But if i done it with paper, i could just cut out all the paper strips and have the materials ready and take it down in a bag and get cardboard in welly and glue the paper to it, and other details etc~ then after the competition i'd have no use for them so I could just set them on fire and have a beach party~~~ooooh and cook marshmallows! |

| OMG!! You're doing a WoW cosplay thats awesome!!! I'm going to Wellygeddon as a Draenei Mage (my avatar which is the newest action figurine/statuette lol)>
Umm if you still looking for tips to make them well the way Jania Solo made her Belldandy wings look very similar to the Spirit healers wing's http://www.cosplay.com/costume/31574/ The wings are carved from pvc foam sheets, which is quite light to carry on your back, and she used wire around the edges of each wing part to keep them straight, then she attatched them to a skin-toned corset round her waist..
Just be careful of how wide you make them as Armageddon has strict rules on costume pieces that spand wider than the cosplayer, if the costume pieces get in the way of people walking around they might take them off you O.o You can still get the same effect across with slightly smaller wings than the ingame wings |

| I'm seriously considering doing something else, seeing as i have to fly to Christchurch and then to Wellington, I wont have much room for wings... I still haven't fully decided, but I'm edging towards a completely different cosplay. Though a WoW cosplay would be pretty epic ;C |
