D. Gray Man
Does anybody know when the anime is going to be translated onto DVD ?
And sold outside of Japan ?
Kind of wanted to watch the anime on DVD. And now getting kind of impatient.
Heard rumours that Cartoon Network is going to play it, during late at night.
But with Adult Swim gone from their section, it seems highly doubtly. |

| Adult Swim was dropped on Aussie/NZ Cartoon Network Jan 1st this year. Its still on everywhere else.
However Australia has it again on one of their comedy channels. So it will air like...everywhere but NZ ;-;
But yeah...Better sticking with fansubs. Buying 103 episodes is a bad idea. (Though only the first 52 are licensed for dubbing, the rest will come later) |

| 52 episodes have beebn lisenced and are up for release early next year, I think. So, if it gets released in NZ, then I'm guessing it would be around mid to late year :/ Or more.
I just volume 10 of the manga <3. I love DGM~
I want more anime! 103 episodes is not enough!! I'd buy it on DVD, but 103 episode .__. I think I'm fine with my *coughillegallydownloadcough* episodes. Which are on disk :> |

| What Pura said is right... I had a snoop around yesterday and there's a trailer on the funimation site (I take it it's them that's licensed it) that says coming 2009. Thats all it says. xD Can't wait though~ I wanna see what VA's they have~ I'm gonna buy them. Lol... No idea how I'll afford that. -steals Tyki's hat- |

Don't really mind about the 103 episodes thing. You can just pick the DVDs that just have more of your favourite episodes on it, and what episodes were really good in the manga, right ? Did it with Bleach and bits of the story are missing ( but it's okay). Kind of |

Re: D. Gray Man By Pura. 14/10/08, 12:27 pm |
| But I have to have things in order .__. Like how I normally can't buy manga out of order xD. Whatever VA's they have, they probably won't be very good and it would no longer feel like DGM. That happened with Death Note. Heh, once I saw a car with the license plate 'DGM***' (stars are numbers I can't remember ;p). It was EPIC. I took a photo with my phone xD. |

| My sister managed to watch all 103 episodes in 2 weeks >.> I couldn't keep up with her, but I watched the ones that featured Kanda in them. I don't know about the English releases, but I know they've all been released in Japan (last one in March 2009). I suppose it depends on how fast they can dub it in English then? |

| I keep up to date with the manga.
The anime was awesome, but then they made fillers and it failed. The anime series was cut short, so I don't think it really matters if it gets licensed or not. |

I do like how they made extra content for stuff they cut out short on the manga though... |

| I steal it online so I am up to date with the latest chapter. Go team me! The anime is boring with bad animation and fillers. Plus it's drawn kinda bad. Timothy is kinda cool, I'm glad they added a kid character. But why is his weapon who is in the form of a human thing japanese when he is french? |

Err, maybe (how does that work?) or maybe he likes Japan. Haha, I guess it doesn't matter anyway, I should focus on other things I started watching the anime first too xDD. It's fun to marathon. I don't take the anime as seriously as the manga, and the filler for it is actually good and not tedious, unlike most filler.
I'm sad the anime finished ;__; |

| Which epis are fillers? So I can avoid them upon my starting to actually -watch- the series when I've just been reading the manga so far. |

So I can avoid them upon my starting to actually -watch- the series when I've just been reading the manga so far. Quite a few, but because the are plot full fillers it's not easy to tell unless you've read the manga xD. So yeah, you don't need to avoid them because they are actually really good. And this is coming from someone who can't STAND filler. Which is why I never watched Naruto >:/.
Poltfilled filler is fine, but if it's nonsence, then I can't stand it. |

Re: D. Gray Man By xx_sora_xx. 10/04/09, 12:18 pm |
| I guess. Filler was why I didn't watch past Soul Society with the Bleach anime. I have a friend who said there was filler in DGM and that was why I had asked, I don't like fillers. And I prob will be able to tell, since I have been/am in the process of reading the manga. |

I have a friend who said there was filler in DGM and that was why I had asked, I don't like fillers. And I prob will be able to tell, since I have been/am in the process of reading the manga. The anime has more battles with Akuma. Like in the manga, they have a battle when they go get characters, and then after they get Krory they go straight into looking for Cross. But in the anime they have battle in which there's a disturbance of Innocence, so they go look for that (and one of the Noah's comes in earlier in the anime than the manga - for ages I thought she was an anime only character). Plus the anime has more stuff about some of the character deaths xDD.
So, anime = more fights, manga = straight into plot. |
