| Well yes, but still - it'd be a bit arse if somebody had to go hungry if there was NOTHING anti-multiple-allergy available... |

| I went to the Uni Q ball and it was really great. They had a buffet table with finger food and such. It went down really well. I think a buffet style thing could work quite well. |

Honestly, I think everything will be hard to organise, but also, I totally think that whatever ends up being the final decision will please people. I know it will be an awesome night and people will probably like anything. It's really nice that you're thinking about the people with food-intolerences as well. ^^ |

true its just a hassle to orgonise Having helped run parties at my parents something that works very well is the next person who walks past the kitchen as each plate is ready gets given it, told to take around the party once then dump it on a table that everyone has access to. Finger-food buffets are a peice of cake to organise, heaps easier than .... well pretty much any other method of feeding large amounts of people. Plus: no plates = no dishes = EASY PEASY.
Thinking of plates - what about cups? Plastic cups are dirt cheap but nice glass ones can be hired. Makes the evening seem that much swankier but IS more expensive, I think about $2/glass for the night. Ideas? Opinions? |

I guess plastic cups would be a good way to go. I'd be a bit paranoid I'd break the glasses. Depending on where the ball is, though, they might have glasses we could use. |

| Nah, plastic glasses all the way - no washing required, just a bin bag for clean up. I was kind of imagining we'd have a buffet-style food thing going anyway - how the hell would we get a sit-down meal organised without a catering crew? O_O |

| Not with us trying to keep the cost to something everyone can afford! Some of these kids still get pocket money, remember? We did think about it though, ages back, but we decided that us trying to herd a gaggle of kids from resteraunt to ball location (in costume!) was unmanagable, and that the cost of getting it fully catered would be prohibitive for most of the younger kids.
EDIT: The ecologist in me winces at the plastic cups but you're completely correct that they are far and away the easiest option. And cheapest. |

| If you get the niceish ones from moore wilson's they can definitely be recycled, if anybody wants to claim them. If somebody hangs onto them we could always use them again next year! XD |

| Yeah. It probably wouldn't be a waste to get some people to just give em' a quick wash and then store em' for next year. ... But where would we store them? ^^; |

| We can stash em somewhere. My olds have heaps of space and hopefully next year I will too. Once I throw out my garbage. There's bound to be people with garages and things ;D |
