Sorry I wound up posting this too late for some of you sad

But once again the SCCPNZ events are happening.

I've done these twice now and they are really wonderful :) The kids love to see characters both well known and made up (fairies always have a place).

Anyway after the success of the Bat Family group at Armageddon and all the super hero costumes I figured this year would be perfect for extending the invite. Superheroes are love at these :)

They are all on a Saturday and run from about 10/11 through to late afternoon.

I am attempting to get my Shaak Ti sorted properly so I can be a big gentle giant but I thought I'd throw the idea out for maybe another CNZ series of get togethers to do good :)

In Auckland it is at the same venue as Armageddon so is fairly easy to find :)

Seriously it is amazing. I may be able to provide a few costumes if anyone is thinking about it.

I don't like to share photos due to the underage factor and being a semi private function. But there are photos out there :)

If anyone is interested please post here, any questions feel free to ask too :) Snacks and hot drinks are provided, and the vending machines as always- I tend to go for the latter except for tea so I can stay on the floor as long as possible :)

Also those of us at the showgrounds can organise a phone tree/twitter update about the dinner. I forgot how early the thing ended officially so we may wind up having an early dinner after all. (I have 4kg of headgear to lug around all day plus same for costume.)

I don't really have any awesome children outfits, but I'm totally keen to be a fairy. I think Tammy might be interested as well. C:

It is the week after I've finished school though, so I'm not too sure how I'll be feeling. How long is the event?

It's about 4 hours :) For break times there is a room upstairs :)

It is both exhausting and amazing all at once :) You can chat with the parents and help the children choose presents (arranged by age, but they usually get two or three). When I did that in my Ever After gown it was pretty easy, in Reinette it was a tad difficult due to the size of the costume- it gets pretty crowded in the tunnel :)

There should be a petting zoo again (I spent a bit of time over there) and children's rides. And last time there was a ball toss where we wound up encouraging children to throw or throwing for them :)

D'aww wish I could be there again this year ;A; I have another fairy cosplay (Fairy of Spring from Touhou Project) complete with wings too >D

Er how do we go about getting in, do we need an invite? Or can we just rock up in costume or something?

Anyway, yes Disney would be amazing to take along :) XD

For Auckland I am sure there is free parking and you can definitely walk up to the doors with no issue :) If you are in costume you can just say you are here with me, Mark does know me by name so that should be enough, there is a short talk Mark gives to encourage everyone for the day :) Mainly to keep smiles going and get involved as much as possible. It really is mainly asking children if they are having fun. Or helping with the presents etc.

The doors are usually the glass ones right where the info booth for Armageddon are are there is usually a fairly long queue. I haven't been to the Waikato one so I am not sure about the layout :)

I so wanted to go, but a friend of ours has come up to Auckland for one day to spend time with us. Picked the worst day as I'm completely free other days.

I'm going out to get fabric tomorrow so with all hope and a few all nighters I'll turn up as Princess Aurora. Failing that I'll be Danny Phantom.

@neimhaille- Yes, I can confirm, will be there as Shrek! Going to trial the makeup on Wednesday.

@brunetteyes- ohhhh gonna miss you guys! Still have a great Xmas and catch up with you next year.

@Ember- well, at least she's a princess! Am totally gonna be outnumbered by you all. Though technically Shrek is married to a princess, so I dont know if that makes him a prince.

@fleyer- Good luck with sewing. I've still got a bit to do myself!

Hmmmm.. if they were British no. Think Princess Anne and mark Phillips :) But in a fantasy land with a mix of inspirations who knows ;)

Anyway this is completely fabulouly awesome, even though we and the kids will miss a few of you sad

But it's okay there is always next year and more events as well :)

I have less sewing to do so much as trowel on latex mixes, glues, paints and tool some leather... I may leave the leatherwork off as it's quite fun and I'd like to just go slow with it ;)

And possibly brave the transport system with a bald cap and full on make up. Hmmmmm.

Whoops, editing again: so if there are a few of us wantng to paint up shall we try and organise a bathroom? I can email mark and ask if one of the bathrooms is free upstairs? I have a nice compact kit and am well supplied with brushes and wipes too :) It will mean getting in earlier to make use of it.

I will email tonight and should hear tomorrow :)

If I can't get a lift there I would love to grab a bathroom to change in but I can always go without if we can't. I'll be getting my fabric first thing tomorrow but this is my first time making a corset and working with boning so hopefully that goes well.

I'll do as much painting as possible beforehand so should only need to do touchups once there, but a bathroom for checks, pulling lekku on and touchups would be appreciated :)

TinTango if you need help with making up as Shrek I still have a lot of supplies from my last Asari and Shaak Ti efforts like Prosthetic Aide (much stronger and friendly to the skin than spirit gum) and liquiset :) And powder!

I also am wrangling my cleaning station so I have towels and remover to help clean up after :)

I'm hopefully trialling a new paint so long as the last of my product arrives today or tomorrow and my latex troweling cures in time ;) It means I don't need my liquiset any more so I'm happy to use it :)

I've just asked for what the earliest time we can be there is and so we can work out when we'd like to get there :) Just so we have time to get finished dressing and then give you a tour of the show and what to expect and where :) And meet the other volunteers :)

I cannot tell you how happy I am to see so many interested in doing this :) it is seriously cool :) And the more people who come the better, it gives everyone a chance to take a break when they do need to :)

As said there will be food and coffee and tea upstairs but I have some gold coins to use the machines for skittles and M&Ms as thank yous and to help with engery upkeep ;) So choccie bribery ftw ;)

@neimhaille: Wow! I haven't even thought that far in terms of prosthetics... still sorting out the tunic. Can I tell you tomorrow, after I've tried out my "plan A" for makeup?

and YAY on getting a bathroom for makeup! Will probably just do touch up of the green stuff when I get there too.
