SLAS Gaming Lan - 5th - 6th of September

Prepare for SLAS14

We will be kicking off at 6pm on Friday the 5th of September and going for the full 24hrs until 6pm Saturday! Come prepared to game on and not sleep properly until Saturday night!

If you don't know what a lan is, its a sort of a big gaming party where everyone brings their computer and plays multiplayer games and share various sorts of data (animez!) across the network.

When: Friday the 6th of September to Saturday the 7th
Where: hall at St Michaels School, in the heart of Christchurch
Duration:24 hrs
Cost:$10

Well Slas14 is just around the corner, so heres some more info for those attending.

We are currently looking at fielding multible consoles, including a PS2, Wii and multible Xbox 360s, running on a total of 5 or more tvs. There will be Guitar Hero, Smash Bros Brawl, Burnout, Halo and loads more. Big thanks to all those who are contributing this way.

For our younger attendees, you can download an information letter for your parents, who may not be totally sold on the 'lan' idea, hopefully this will provide them with the information that they need to know to be assured of your safety at these events.

it's cos we have more outgoings, with game hire, and giving free entry to those who bring the consoles / tvs we need.

Other lans are around $20+ so it's still pretty cheap ^_^

Ok, update time:

We are renting Soul Caliber 4 and Mario Party.
We've got 3-4 xbox360s, and are looking at 12-16 player halo matches
Lavi's brining his Wii, so there will be Super Smash Bros

There will be guitar hero 2 and 3, and possibly GH1 as well, running on its own dedicated TV.

There will be anime/movie screenings of whatever random stuff people want to watch on the tv

I'm brining my entire anime collection, over 1500gb and in total we'll probably have about 3-4tb (3-4000gb) worth of anime and another few Tb of other stuff. All you need to be able to download this stuff is to bring your computer to this event.

As said before, for those on this forum that are still in high school, you can pay just $5 for one day if you cant make it for both days.
