I don't think I'll use this often but I have these in progress!

Princess Bubblegum
Spoiler:

Dress fabric + pattern bought, crown made and pattern for hoodie ordered. Still thinking of how to do that wig! Any ideas anyone?

woo yeah finally some progress in here!
I've styled up my princess bubblegum wig. ITS SO HEAVY AND MESSY.
I need to cut the bangs and tidy everything up. It was originally a long pink curly wig all doubled up and stuffed into a ponytail and I broke a lot of hair ties c:

I finished my dress! It's loose around the waist and has a couple of safety pins in the back but the hoodie will cover them so whatever! I painted over the mess in my room...

@Pixel I'll let you know ^^ I bought some stuff but I'm yet to try it out. If it doesnt work well I've heard Aquacolour Bodypaint is really good. You've done a lot of Homestuck cosplays, what did you use for grey body paint?

Yes I'm planning for Hamilton, but if some of my plans dont work out for Auckland I'll wear Gumball again then ^^

I used Snazaroo, but I'd like to stay away from that because it wasn't very good for anything other than my face. I'll have a look around c:

There's this stuff called PAX paint. I don't think its on the affordable side of life, but if you want to paint your whole body, this is the stuff to go for. I've seen the results and they are amazing. Abother thing to look into for full body painting is mixing acrylic paint with liquid latex. This is a new method I have just come across, and it wooks very well. A few layers need to be applied, but it dries relatively quick, and will not crack. The more layers you apply, the more sturdy the stuff becomes and will be less likely to rub/peel off. I cover the latex paint mix with snazaroo just for that extra vibrant pop of colour, and it give the latex more of a skin texture instead of being so shiny.
Paint for thought, lol

^ Thanks for the info! I've heard of PAX and that its quite similar to latex.

For my cosplay I only need coverage for my face, little bit of neck and hands so I'm thinking I dont really need anything too hardcore. Then again I have been wanting to get some latex anyway.. hmm. I'll try out all the stuff I have already first Razz

I've seen quite a few tutorials around for using stockings to cover your arms? So you could get some for legs and arms and then just get a paint in a close colour to cover the rest of yourself with.

There's very little skin that needs to be covered! Just face, neck a bit of arms and leg and I uncovered some snazaroo which I would have liked to stay away from but since I already have it (just need to make it light pink as it's white) I'll use it c:

Help needed with boots!! I really want to use gumboots as I think it looks cute, but they'd only be in one colour. Do you think that would be okay? Are there any other types of boots that the material holds paint well or should I try making bootcovers (which i really want to avoid lmao)

I tried mixing up my pink facepaint with red and white but I can't get it to go pink! Its refusing to change from a peachy colour. I'll try some more tomorrow but i should have just gotten some pink stuff online...

This angle really shows off my massive nose but whatever, a makeup test! A side view so you can see the wig better~
My pinks kinda nice, a bit dark but does this look okay? I look rather sunburnt...

Haha, yay for big noses!! Don't they just get in the way of everything!

I like the pink you've made very much. The way you hve mixed/made it/applied it to your skin, somehow makes it look natural. Like if pink skin existed, that's what it would look like. It's a different hue from your wig, so the skin makes the wig look brighter and the wig makes your skin look more subdued. All in all, you nailed it!!!!

(and your nose is not that big my dear X3

I'm going to remake the crown since its too chunky and doesn't stay on my head right...I would use craft foam, but it would be too floppy :c Is there anything I can use that's like craft foam and not too expensive?

And thanks chiken_skratch!! I won't worry about it c: you are really helpful!

You could what I'm doing and make it out of craft foam and paper mache over it to make it sturdy? That's what I'm doing with my mask and armor.

If you glue some heavy fabric to the back of craftfoam/paint it with a few layers of pva it'll go quite stiff, that's what I did when making my Meiko armour.

@Pixel

I really like the makeup shade on you. It doesnt look too dark at all. I think if it was any lighter it would be too subtle.

Oo I like the PVA on craft foam idea. I've also seen thicker, heavier craft foam at Looksharp, but they dont always have it.
