Not at all! The only reason you can't enter a costume is if it's won a major prize (best in show, best group, best individual, best open, best novice) or breaks a rule like the 70% one or the "don't make it out of stuff that can hurt people" one. nodnod

Oh well, sadly its not quite eligible for entry in the cosplay cup.
Apparently the jacket is considered too major of a component to be shop bought.

No biggy, making the jacket myself would have been a month long project by itself. I haven't sewed anything since high-school infotech?! I remember being OK at it, and enjoying it. I still have a teadybear i made Pikachu

I will be at the parade all the same.

Next hear my precious, next year.

^This also means you now only have to focus on the jacket which will make it easier if you need to get back into the sewing groove

Gloves 100% done
Shoes 100% done
Belt 100% done
Rabbit tail 80% made, needs a belt loop
Jacket patch (to cover brand). done
Jeans.... um.... washed?! done
White skivvy......purchased. done

House not a complete tip, 60%. need to vacuum.

Only other non-critical jobs are making a backup paper-craft mask for when i need to give my neck a rest, and some cosplay cards.

I'm going to be a big meany and keep the reveal till the Friday at Arma.

Edit. At this point i will be there Friday (inc ball) and Saturday (for the parade + maybe Starboy). Will play sun and mon by air and see how i feel.

Well, that went better than expected.

I'm so glad i went this evening. Not only was it FUN, it also shows where the structural weaknesses are in the costume.

One thing i did not count on is how much of a problem condensation would be. The thinner parts on the nose were starting to get soft.
Ive dumped a tone of PVA in there with a hair drier on cold trying to stiffen it back up.
This was only after the 1st hour, 2 hour brake, last hour.

I will have to do some patch work to the shoe tongues, but that was not un-expected.

Other than those things the rest of the costume fared quite well.

The backup masquerade mask was also a big hit, well worth the effort when i wanted to dance, or take a break from the big head.

After some thought i think tomorrow i will go Kaz-light for the first part of the day.
That being the masquerade mask and regular shoes, and leave the full getup for the parade.
I would be gutted if i have major problems before i can be on stage.

God those shoes are a bi**h to get on. sad

Great idea making the Kaz-light because i could only imagine how hot it would get with your baby on for more than 15 mins at a time. It was great catching up with ya at Armageddon and cant wait to see your future cosplays!! Good Luck man!!

Thanks, I had such a blast this year. This is one of the best things i have ever done with my life. I will member it forever. The response was simply AMAZING, both from fellow cos-players and the general public. I am deeply moved Embarassed

2012, year of the Kaz cheers

The Monday was simply prefect. Got a good park, good weather, Went to some good panels. Hung out with a good friend i met last year that that is an enthusiastic photographer. I got some really nice shots with me in full-kaz with other cosplayers (impossible to do without a buddy).

We caught the lead singer of Magnolia Memoir, Mela Lee, and got an amazing photo with her. I was dancing up a storm in full-kaz and she must have seen me (LOL, only the blind would miss me)

Sat down today installed the ventilation fans in Kaz. Learning to solder is one useful skill.

They don't so much make the head feel any cooler, but the get rid of all my hot humid breath.

I do unfortunately lose the mouth as a 2ndary viewing port (was useful for stairs) and as an opening to drink though.
If i need to drink, i probably need a proper break anyway.

Thanks, its just a battery,fan and switch, the stuff you may have messed around with in intermediate/high-school.

I do feel more like Darth Vader inside than a fighting rabbit though LOL.

If i was going to do anything more to it, it would be improve the hearing inside. Either trough cutting some holes (only if discreet) or with a microphone and speaker system.
