I'm excited to see pics of your Q and Ririchiyo horns sometime! I am on such a hornmaking kick rn you have no idea, I just want to see people making horns and interrogate them on how they did it and stuff.

WOAH HELLO FORUMS IT'S BEEN A VERY LONG TIME
So I just got back from Wellygeddon and a number of people said they were interested in reading my miniature thesis entry form for Amira Halgal from Otoyomegatari!
I've uploaded it here on google docs (i should add that this was written under the influence of alcoholic beverages so please excuse anything I forgot to edit out just now), but it's decided to mess with a lot of the pictures, so I'll upload some progress shots under a spoiler below, there will be many and they will be big. Please excuse the quality of the photos too, my house has some terrible lighting ahaha
Spoiler:
I'm quite tempted to yell "NEVER AGAIN" about embroidering a cosplay, but I did have a lot of fun with it when I was further away from the due date. I still kinda can't believe I made the whole thing in a month, all the embroidery on the chrypy was done in one week. If I'm ever silly enough to try something like this again I just hope I don't get sick again because EMBROIDERY IN A MONTH IS NOT REALLY TOO FUN, but learning new/relearning some embroidery stitches was really nice.

I didnt realise you'd posted your entry until now! Geez I'm slow. Your embroidery is gorgeous! So perfect and accurate looking. It makes me want to do embroidery again Razz I'm always thinking about machine techniques and I forget about how pretty hand stitching can be ^^

Yep, a month! There was not a lot of sleep had, ahaha.

Idk, there are some things I'd do differently if I had had the time, but hand embroidery just takes so long! I've been considering saving up for a embroidery machine to help save time, but since in the past I've always hand embroidered, I feel like it might take away some of the charm of it for me Razz

Anyway, progress! I updated the first post, starting to work on stuff for Auckgeddon now! (I say in the hopes that my uni exam timetable will be gracious enough to let me go). Mary is already done, bar some adjustments I want to make before geddon, including making an underskirt - I completely forgot about its existence and already had a photoshoot OTLLL

I also started and almost finished Elsie in about two to three days - I was going to have a photoshoot with her as well, but the wig just didn't arrive in time, I have it now but all motivation kind of trickled away... All I've really got to do is add a bajillion meters of trim to everything, and make sure it all sits right with a hoop skirt underneath, and make her headband. I did a bit of a make-up test as well, she's the first villain type character I've ever cosplayed, so getting to play with darker make-up than the usual cutesy girls I do was a lot of fun!

The satin-y red looks so pretty peaking out under the black! And I'm digging the makeup ^^
